I had lots of debts that led to a messy divorce. I am now trying to rebuild my life.

A Liverpool Victoria Loan of circa 7k has dropped off my file a while ago and is being paid in an arrangement to DLC for £60 PCM.

In the past they would have accepted a £3k settlement, but couldnt raise the funds.

Do i still need to pay the contributions is my question?

a debt dropping off your cra file

because a default has reached its 6th birthday does not mean it does not have to be paid.

however, LV & CLC urm........

can you give us the background history please.

how did DLC get ahold of it?

was it sold?

if they sold it why?

who was shown as the owner of the debt before it fell of the CRa file?

could be that the loan it littered with PPI

and PENALTY charges that can be reclaimed too.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

OK thanks for the clarification.

I only started looking at my CRA file in 2010 and it isn't on there,

i think it may have defaultedin 2010 but isnt on my equifax or experian report

To be honest i couldnt afford the repayments,

went on an arrangement

and then DLC have been after me ever since and i pay what i can.

They seem happy that it will take me years to clear, and the fct that the settlement offer after negotiations came down over 65%?

Maybe there is something fishy with this.

I tried PPI 3 years ago before but they said there wasn't any, even though the agreement is only the 1 page of terms attached.

What do you suggest?

yes def

if they are offering a discount theres a reason.

and it MUST be a very good reason if LV sold a debt of that value.

get an SAR off to LV.
