Oh dear. Potential minefield ahead.

With lease pv panels (photovoltaic) they are owned by the installer who get a Feed In Tariff (FIT) from the government for every Kw of leccy generated while the homeowner gets a slight reduction in their bill. Dependant on the contract, either the home owner or the installer gets a few pence of the leccy company.

The problem is that a leased system has to be passed on to the new owner and this lasts for 25 years from install when they then become the property of the homeowner. So what happens if the new homeowner doesn't want the contract. I think the PV owners will try and stop the sale as they have a financial interest in the property.

Avoid!
