Hi I am new to these forums

- I have an outstanding debt of about £7000 with the HRMC which has been referred to DLC .

I cannot afford to pay in one lump sum.

What is my next course of action ?

Can I offer to make monthly payments ?

Should I pay HMRC or DLC ?

What is the least they will generally accept ?

I have received one letter one text and one phone call so far none of which I have answered.

I have read in the forums about solutions but these generally refer to loans and credit cards and not income tax.

Any help gratefully received.

whatever you do NEVER EVER pay a DCA

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

They will not accept payments as there are still outstanding returns .

Why should I not pay a DCA - I am paying NIC to Drydensfairfax and they accepted £100 a month and have not pestered me once since I negotiated the payment plan.

this worked for me:

From experience :

Do not call them. Do not speak to them or let them in. Change vehicle ownership details asap just incase. Setup an online banking payment and pay them little and often, that way each time they send you a statement you can write back saying this is not right, I dont owe that much, where did you get that figure ! smile.gif

HMRC will pass it to their debt collectionlink3.gif firm, you guessed it - Drydensfairfax, and you write back to them saying who are you, i dont owe that figure to HMRC, prove it! They write back saying its on hold whilst you contact HMRC, you ignore letter and carry on paying little and often - HMRC happy to see payments and move on to someone else.

sensible amounts though :-(
