Ive just received a Default Notice for the Council Tax which has none of the pre-requisite terms and has a figure amounting to twice of that which is owed.

Do Council Tax default notices have to follow the same rules as other default notices for credit cards for example?

Hi, I can't say I have ever seen a ''default notice'' for CT,

non payment is a criminal offence dealt with by Magistrates

ane enfoced with a liability order.

Can you post up the ''notice'' after removing personal details

please.

Any Letters I Draft are N0T approved by CAG and no personal liability is accepted.

Will do this when I get home Brigadier but it is short and sweet, no allowance for time to remedy default and the amount appears to be a round figure for the hell of it and double what I believe is owed.

Strange.

scan the required letters/agreements/sheets

as a picture[jpg] file

remove all pers info inc barcodes etc using paint program

but leave all figures and dates.

goto one of the many free online pdf converter websites

it would be better to upload a multipage pdf

than many single ones

or if you have PDF as an installed printer drive use that

or use word and save as pdf

open a new msg box here

hit go advanced below the msg box

hit manage attachments below that box

hit the add files button on the top right

hit select files, navigate to your file on your pc

hit upload files

NB:you can set where it goes in the post by hitting insert inline.

the hit reply button

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi shaaarn

It may be the sum of your arrears plus your entire remaining bill for this year to March 2012. Paying in a monthly installments is a concession that they can withdraw at any time, and do withdraw once one is in arrears with no agreement. It is important to reach an agreement with them and stick to it or you'll get crap + fees from bailiffs.

You can try your local CAB but do your own personal budget sheet first to see what you can afford.

love

vic
