My daughters Fiancee is umemployed at the moment and is constantly struggling to keep his head above water as soon as his benefits go in its gobbled up by bank charges My daughter is now pregnantt and they desperatley need to save and he cannot go to work till he has his health sorted. We wrote to Natwest who have just said he needs to change bank accounts and will not send him his 4 years of statements until he pays £10.00. Any help gratefully

I think he has to send a payment for £10 requesting the period from - to that he requires, before they will send him his statements. I am sure it is standard procedure when requesting copy statements. Basically your are requesting a SAR (Subject Access Request).

Also regards to them taking charges from the benefit the government provide, I think I read on here that they should not do that, and he need to let them know that he is on benefit and request the return of all charges. He should put everything in writing. There are letters on here that will help, check in the library. Someone more knowledgeable than myself shouldl be along to help soon :).

Hi Yes the £10 and SAR request will produce all the statements and account history along with all data.

If the statements only are the issue,go for online banking with Natwest they usually have available online up to 6 years statements NO CHARGE.

The bank may not take charges out of benefits, make an official complaint and reclaim all charges in full for the period of benefits payments

Go for the online banking first then when you have all the details, then go for the reclaim of charges

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
