hi all,

I'm hoping you can give me some advice. My new partner has a tendency to bury his head in the sand when it comes to sorting out anything that comes through the post!!! So I have taken it on sorting it out for him.

One of his work vehicles was caught being driven without being taxed... he forgot to tax it! I taxed it for him immediately and gave him the letter with the £80 fine to pay... he never paid it...he forgot!!! He has now got a 'requisition' letter to appear at our local magistrates court mid November. It gives him options to please guilty / not guilty etc.

Basically i'm not bothered about the fine as we'll pay it (well he will and he deserves to be fined). However I am worried this will result in a CCJ. We are looking to buy a house together next year and I am worried this will affect his credit rating. Is there any way we can get out of this at this stage without him receiving a CCJ???

Many thanks in advance.

Maxine
