Clear of defaults

Hi All

 

Can anyone offer their experience of becoming clear of defaults after the 6 year drop off with regard to there credit score please.

 

I have a default that clears in Feb 2011, will my credit score improve dramatically once this is clear or does it just mean that I can build my score more rapidly as there is no default present.

 

I have no other detrimental info on report.

i tink much of that will depend if you have any cedit running at the time. do you have other cards etc that you have paid on time, etc?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have a high apr credit card that is paid every month and also a loan that is paid on time, mobile phone & sky tv.

My credit score is borderline between poor and fair on experian so I'm hoping that when the default clears it will show as fair to good if I keep up with current payments etc

i would imagine your score will jump a fair bit then. but don't take anything for granted based on a cra score. very much down to the individual lender when you do apply.

When id did my credit search last night I didnt see sky listed there, does sky count towards you a positive credit?

just depends if sky report on well maintained accounts. they might only report to one cra. they may only report on negative payments.
