Hello,

This is my first time posting, so I hope I am at the right place. I was the classic 'head in the sand' person for a few years over debt. For the last 10 months I have been sorting it slowly and live by a very tight budget.

I had a Morgan Stanley credit card with PPI, which at the time I got because I thought it helped my credit rating. When I split up from my partner in 2006 I cancelled the PPI and tried several times to change my address as I moved out the area. they made it very difficlt for me to change address, I tried countless times but was unable to and reduced my payment to minimum payment. I never recieved a statement since 2006.

The card then became a barclay card when morgan stanley were bought out. It was even more difficult for me to locate the card. I finally managed to access it by taken ID etc into barclays bank a few days ago.

Then I found out I have been paying PPI every month.

In addition to this I found out I opened the account in 2001 when I was a student who worked part time.

The balance of the credit card is about the same as it was 4 years ago and I have bever used it. It is £3999 balance and I have been paying £87 a month without using it for 4 years.

I need advice, my life would be so much more comfortable (v tight budget) if could write this off. I have written a formal complaint - can I reclaim anything?

Thank you so much for any advice I recieve

Hi,

No, your in the correct Forum :) I'm just not too good with PPI stuff

If you hit your back button, at the top of the Forum, there's a list of threads, 'stickys' which you should read regarding claiming back any PPI.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
