Hello everyone, I would really appreciate your help on this if you can,

Today I received a letter from First Revenue Assurance, collecting on behalf of Arrow Global.

From searches, Arrow Global seems to mostly collect on UK debts, so I assume this must be a debt from when I was in the UK. I moved to the USA 4 years ago and I have taken no credit here.

I think this might have been on an old credit card I had forgotten about, but for the life of me, I thought they would have approached the matter before 4 years had passed if it was this.

This is deeply upsetting for me as I was in trouble for many years trying to get out of debt and finally thought I had paid them all, it was all clear, and I had made a new start, now here this is.

I don't know how I should deal with arrow global, the debt is for around $7,000. Does anyone know what the consequences are on this or advice with how I should deal with them? Does this involved taking me to court in this country? I really don't understand.

They seem to be sending letters to every address i have ever lived at and I received calls from someone collecting (although he did not state the name of his company) and leaving messages on my answerphone for about a month, although they seem to have stopped now.

Many thanks in advance

IMHO and others will come along and advise, but if the debt is a UK based debt, then I have never heard of a DCA in another country being able to enforce collection, not saying that doesn't happen but I fail to see why another country would become remotely interested in a debt from outside it's own country:confused:

However a little research on the web throws up some very intersting results!

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
