My father-in-law passed away last November after a horrible few months dealing with asbestos related lung cancer, so a pretty nasty time for his family too obviously. My OH and his brother were not up to dealing with anything much after this, so I took over for a lot of the bits that needed doing.

A few weeks after he died I sent letters to all utility companies etc informing them of this, including a copy of the death certificate.

BT were on my list, and had the same letter as all others (sent recorded as I always do for stuff like this). Anyway, I went over to his house yesterday to sort some things out, and found a pile of bills from BT, getting nastier with each one. Then I came across 2 letters from Westcot, the latest of which is threatening court action for an amount that is over double what BT say he owes (for the phone line that should have been disconnected months ago) because they've added fees onto it!

I'm so cross I haven't even managed to do a letter to them yet, as I would be perfectly happy to write to BT with a simple one liner telling them that they and their inept employees can f*** right off.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I needed to vent. Oh, and if anyone happens to know an address for anyone above minion level there I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks

So sorry you've had this on top of everything else. BT really are a bunch of braindead morons; our experience bears this out also. I can recommend you email the CEO. From what we've heard, he works 17hrs a day, 7 days a week. I got a response (a personal one, at that) within two hours, and I mailed him on a Sunday.

I hope that helps, and you can sort it to your satisfaction.

We decided to pay our BT line rental to Sky as it was inevitably cheaper, so after a year or so, we moved house and informed Sky of the move. All of a sudden, we were getting letters from BT saying we owed them 8 months line rental. It went to a DC and then the amount doubled. It took months for them to get the message.

BT stands for Bloody TO****S:mad:.

If all else fails, kick them where it hurts and SOD'EM;)

Thanks for the email Smeesue, I'll be knocking something up today. I assume pleasant and polite is the order of the day when writing to a CEO:)

Sod'em - excellent rant:D, glad (well not glad, but I'm sure you know what I mean!) that it's not just us:mad:

Oh no its not just you.

I tried to sort out a small matter of my phone line haveing issues of not being able to use my phone for days. Some nearly 4 months after i reported the issue they done a test and found there was no issue. No as a comptient Virgin Media came along and within 2 seconds of explaining to him at the green box what my problem was he knew what had happened the local youth had broke into the green box and been pulling wires about.

They did not like it when i pointed it out. They are still trying to charge me Line rental and for calls that were made from my unable to use line.
