Hi Guys,

Posting on behalf of a family friend who has incurred numerous charges onto his current account. The person I am helping, who is disabled, only has Incapacity Benefit and other benefits crediting his account every fortnight.

He has an insurance policy which is a 'perk' of the account, but he is charged a small fee for the 'privelage' of the insurance. The fee always comes out 3 days before his benefits come in and although he has requested the date to be changed so the fee will debit when he receives his benefits, they have been less than helpful and have refused. Cue numerous charges being debited and his account being downgraded to a Cashcard account.

Hi sazz:)

Sorry you haven't had any replies to your query yet!

I'm afraid I'm only a relative novice to all this myself so cannot offer much advice other than to say that you have done the right thing in sending off for a SAR to establish just how many charges have been levied on your friend's account. At least that way you can help them begin to get the money that is rightfully theirs refunded. Do be prepared for Lloyds to use delaying tactics in order to avoid complying with the SAR though - they seem to be one of the worst banks to deal with unfortunately, as I have recently discovered.

Hopefully someone with more experience will be along soon to help you, but at least this will get your thread bumped back to the top of the pile so to speak!

Regards,
