Hello

My son has had quite a few £20.00 administration charges taken out of his bank account by Harlands (for gym membership), on account of his Direct Debit payments to them being returned by his bank. He rang Hardlands to ask for the administration charges back, but they said that they are allowed to charge them. That as there part of his contract that he signed they are not unlawfull. I wondered if anyone could advise me if are they the same as bank and credit card charges, and can he claim them back.

Any advise would be very much appriecated.

Thank you

lsb65,

Harlands or Hardlands are not allowed to charge disproportionate fees for your son's breach of contract. The same rules about unlawful bank charges apply.

Follow the same process. Start by sending them a SAR letter to get a list of all the charges that were applied since the past to the present.

Same rule apply.
