I've not heard of any claims, but no reason why you shouldn't be the first!

We ended up paying back after 2 years 7 months £17,000 more than we originally loaned £7,200 of this was a penalty charge!!! Latest letter says they are still looking into it but we are prepared to go the whole way with this one has anybody else had dealings with the wonderful Kensington Mortgages?

Hi There..

apparently you were also kensingtoned! sorry about that but we are all in the same boat..

there are a few peole on these forums who are claiming from them.one already received all the charges back.i am also taking them to court as soon as they refuse to come to an amicable solution about my latest demand..another way to put pressure on them is to get the media involved.talk to any newsoapers-and they do know them!-and tell them your story and ask them to make an issue of it..they all need a good nes story these days..obviously the more people take themto court less likely they are to contest the uncontestable!so good luck and keep the faith, the law is on your side!

Hello

I just thought you might like to hear about my experience with Kensington, yes i too have been KENSINGTONED!

firstly we were missold our mortgagae, wew were told it was a fixed rate when we signed, didnt read the small print and then found out it was a variable rate which went up every month, we were told it was 5.2% but it was actually 7.9% and it went up every month. our direct debit was due to go on the 28th of each month but they were sending us letters dated the 20th of every month telling us it was going up again this month so make sure we have the extra in the bank to make sure the payment clears, simple you might think but the postmark on the letter was the 28th of each month so we werent getting the letters untill a day or so after yet another failed direct debit

We finally decided to sell before it was ripped out from under us so we phonbed for a final redemption figure as we had a buyer and needed to know how much to sell for.

we phoned kensington and were told they couldnt give us a figure over the phone but it would be sent out in writing in 5 days...... NINE WEEKS, 20 something phonecalls, and one lost buyer later we threatened them with a mortgage ombudsman they gave us the figure OVER THE PHONE!

when they took us to court to repossess the house, the judge actually threw them out of court and gave us 3 months to help us which he explained was the maximum he could give and in his words "kensington are operating sadly, ONLY JUST WITHIN THE LAW"

Well they finally repossesed the house, our payments started at £290 a month, within 18 months with kensington it ended up at £790 a month! for a house that was valued at 79,000

we originally borrowed £41,000, payed our mortgage for 4 years had the house repossesed and kensington say we still owe them 12,000 (they sold our house for 69,000 so how do they work this out???

sorry about the terrible punctuation but i was getting angrier by the second as i was typing! kensington seem to have this effect on me lol

I too have been Kensingtoned,

Got a mortgage for 140000, house repossessed 3 years later and sold for 150000. Two years ago they stated we still owed them 28000 so started trying to pay that back at 250 per month and two years later (ie now) we owe them 28300,

Good luck to anyone,

Woodwa5:mad:
