Hull City Council ( the Landlord ) renovated my flat extensively

causing damage to my decorations ( wallpaper ) to which

i am to receive a paltry £195 from them

The real cost of re-wallpapering would be more like £1000

( or £400 DIY )

Is there any lrgal grounds i can get the true cost and how to go about it

Help

Hi Pajamahead. You could make a court claim for the balance of the money but you would have to supply quotes and costings to have the work put right.

Before proceeding with a court claim you need to write to the landlord asking for the remaining balance. But make sure you do your homework and supply all the details of costs involved and damage done. Photographs of the damage caused are always a good idea in cases like this.

Once you have all the information together just shout and I willdig out a letter to send to them.
