Hi,

I have had a bit of a poor record paying my mortgage over the last year and Have letters and phonecalls from halifax almost weekly even though I have told them not to ring me, I am going to re-mortgage my house soon and asked in passing exactly how much I have been charged in charges on one of their last phonecalls, They told me in excess of £1200, £40 for a letter and phonecall seems really steep but they siad that was in their terms & Conditions which I signed so I'd have to pay them.

Is this right and can I claim these daft charges back ?

If so which letters do I forward to them

Thankyou

Hi, Dancer.

I'm not sure about re-claiming the letter charges ect, If they are deemed penalty charges, then yes you can. Hopfully someone will put you straight on that one.

In the meantime send them this, should stop the phone calls....

Hope this helps.
