  1. Hi, I am desperately hoping that someone out there can help me. My husband joined a plumbing course with train 4 trade skills in 2009 but since he could not get credit for the course I signed up for a £6000 loan with CDF to pay for it. We got divorced not long after this and I am still paying £135 a month to the loan company for this course even though I know my ex husband never even opened the course material or even sent in his initial registration card. I have none of the paperwork as he took it when he moved out. I have written to train 4 trade skills who say they can not discuss anything with me as it is not me who is registered on the course. Is there anything I can do or do I just need to continue paying the money every month until March next year? I talked to a solicitor and he said that since I signed the loan agreement it is down to me to just keep paying. Is this correct?
  2. Hi, Just some advice/suggestions needed regarding the Section 360(1) of the Insolvency Act 1986 - 1(b) The bankrupt is guilty of an offence if - (b) he engages ( whether directly or indirectly ) in any business under a name other than that in which he was adjudged bankrupt without disclosing to all persons with whom he enters into any business transaction the name in which he was so adjudged. Part 1a is understood. With regards part 1(b) we can't seem to find any clear definition of what business transaction means and if it includes retailing/selling my goods. I appreciate/understand the business has be "MY NAME trading as LOGO BUSINESS NAME" but can't make out if it needs to be like this on every bit of the website / logo / packaging /email etc. Seems a bit draconian if this is the case......? I am willing to put my name on all invoices and contact details, but I am looking to sell items of clothing / jewellery etc with my logo..... so do not want to add my name in the logo or the title of the website...? Hope this query makes sense
  3. Hi all, I bought a TomTom Via 130 at the Gadget Show exhibition on Saturday as they had a good offer. Lifetime maps and got £40 for trading in my old TomTom ONE. Unfortunately, on Sunday, I discover that the battery is faulty as the unit won't charge at all. They are now asking that I return the item (via post to Scotland, I live in London) and they will then send me a new one under warranty. Firstly, I will send it Special Next Day so it will be insured, but who pays for that? Secondly, we leave for a road trip through Europe on Monday, so what happens if I don't have a new one by then? Can I charge them for the rental of a Sat Nav through the car rental company? Thanks
  4. I have ( unfortuneately ) a Trade Pro account. I have had this account for approx. 4 years. The total owed is approx. £1700. I have missed a few payments in the past and this is probably the reason why it is so high but have been keeping up the payments recently. Yesterday I received a letter from Trade Pro ( on headed paper) saying that my debt had been sold to MKDP LLP and that all details have been transfered to them. MKDP LLP has appointed Compello Operations Ltd. as their servicing agent to manage the account on their behalf. With effect of the date of the receipt of this notice all payments should be made to MKDP LLP. Compello Operations Ltd. will contact you to arrange payment of the balance. Are Trade Pro allowed to do this ? Should I get in touch with Trade Pro instead ? These payments are really crippling me at the moment ( self employed, doesn't need explaining really !! ) and this millstone around my neck is something I really could do without . I must have paid this debt off five times over by now and it isn't going down !! Anybody got any advice please Phil
  5. Don't know if anybody knows the answer to this. If a holiday caravan or lodge park claims to be a member of a trade association and included the trade association logo on its website, what's the procedure when a park is suspended? Should they still be showing the logo to say they are members? Any comments gratefully received
