  1. No worries at all Bookworm we were travlling to London after visiting friends in Milton Keynes anyway, so the drive there was planned to co-inside wiv the gag meet, but all ok in end, my fault or should i blame the other half for not lookin on the site b4 leaving lol... We lok 4ward to the next arranged meeting. PS glad u had a great holiday slayer in the warm and sunny climate
  2. My partner and i just home from London, didnt see the cancelled message untill just now, knew i should have checked last nite or this morn, never mind we had a enjoyable day out and had some good food down china town.
  3. Having read the thread, it seems you are dis-heartened in the fact the Local Sainsburys store charges more for selected items than you can randomly purchase for slightly cheaper prices should you desire to walk or drive to another store of your choice. Using the word lightly Local means local to the community hence local store, these stores which might i add are the same if owned by say Tesco are all postioned to assist the local people, the cost of running such stores are greatly higher than those that are classed as supermarkets, The corner shop that you mention is cheaper, than the Local Sainsburys, remember that the corner shop only has one or two members of staff, are only open at set hours to suit the owner, most products there sell are not fresh and offer less selection of items to buy, some seldomly have what you want anyway. Wheres the local Sainsburys have higher costs to maintain, such as staff wages, rents, operate at hours that most corner shops don't and of course stock a vast range of products which are fresh on a daily basis to assist the customers that visit them. Yes some products might be cheaper at one shop than the other, but ask yourself would you drive or walk 2 miles to save 5p. The costs of doing such would out weigh the saving you might have made. Supermarkets don't get the products for free, there have buyers to pay and delivery charges etc to maintain, buying in vast bulk offers the chance to pass savings onto customers, if the supermarket bought a 10 items for lets say £1.50 would you expect to pay £1.50 the answer would be No, as other charges have to be calulated before the item is released for sale, so that item could be on the shelf within hours at a selling rate of say £1.99 Pricing is always going to be a talking point, no two stores are going to price the same, its all about competion, just like no two corner shops are going to price the same, one will always try to under sell to gain more custom. Theres more to just opening up each day and say oh i'll charge this price for this item, why don't you write to Sainsburys head office in London, i have the address should you want it, and ask if you can arrange a day inside there stores to see how things happen, and what goes on behind the scenes before opening up. I am sure you will be over-whelmed at what goes on, pricing is just a small porpotion of daily activities in local stores and supermarkets, even just the corner shop. No one is in business to lose money, but no one is going to intentionally over price and lose custom either. all is fair in love and war so there say. ON another note, lets mention Petrol, Sainsburys sell petrol at much cheaper prices to the local petrol station at the end of the road, do you complain and not support the local one, what swings around eh. Customers have Freedom of choice, hence shop where there like and pay the price there think is okay to them, if there don't like the price, there can shop around to get cheaper.
  4. Thank you for the gl message, just bought some envelope labels from this site, soon as there arrive i'll post the 1st prelem letter to the bank, hope there notice the action group logo and see i mean business... keep up-dating as and when
  5. Well done on winning your charges etc back keep on helping others in there aim to succeed too.
  6. Hello all. This thread is just part TWO to my other, Help needed with bank stuff. Time to start the ball rolling to claim back just a wee amount of charges. Which was un-b known to me untill this month, but already got the bank statements from NW and gone through them and yep some charges to re-claim from them. 1st of many letters going in post tomorrow.
  7. Thats a gd Q keeping eye on thread for future use gl matey
  8. Oh dear just received part of the statements from NW up to 04/10/2002 statements from 04/10/2002 will be sent seperately there state in letter. Quite alot to look at, checking all transactions etc before posting further. Looks like the account was still been used up to sept 2002 although i don't remember, i'll read read and then re-read all the pages there sent me, then post again.
  9. Any losses due to such power cuts will be covered by the community centres insurances. Loss of items contained in freezers food etc are also covered if power cuts arise, i would read the small print in the contract between the community centre and there insurers. Just hope there have insurance, but i would think there would have, if there have such gatherings in there building.
  10. Couldnt you ask them to revert it back to the pre-payment card/meter and take small weekly amounts to recover the sum owed, although saying that, that just takes you back to square one, you could ask to go on a monthly pay plan, where there estimate the useage for the comming year and you pay each month to cover it, any monies you might owe them are added within the monthly payment, there are ways to repay the money to them, without having to pay in one huge payment, don't matter whos in the wrong for the non-billing, there should'nt seek payment in full but offer ways of re-payment to cover the monies owed, just try speaking to them again, hopefully with someone who can arrange such a plan for you.
  11. I took a loan from my Halifax bank, appiled on line received the forms to sign through the post, noticed the huge insurance costs/fees, telephoned them to explain i didnt want the insurance, as could get cheaper cover elsewhere, there deducted the insurance fee and sent me a new document to sign, all okay... Just letting others know this, you don't need to take out the loan companys insurance to obtain there loan. Some loan companys might say that there will only give the loan to you if insurance taken to protect it, this is mis-selling, you can obtain life cover to include such loans should the need arise.
  12. Yes i belief he is shooting himself in the foot with responding to your e.mails and sending you mail, i take it your saving the e.mails etc for any future referances, as i said, the choice is yours whether to offer part refund, just to get him off your back and to save any further contact with him, only thing that i'm uncertain about is the nothing signed bit, he could state that he hasn't sent you any mail, and that it is friends or brother etc doing such to wind you up, hence nothing to do with him. i know this is all thoughts, but i always think deeper in such matters, maybe too deep on my part hehehehe Hope you have now managed to sell your motor and in time put this bad selling experience behind you.
  13. Hello i'm sure someone with more back ground on such matters will be along soon, as far as i'm aware you can seek the PPI back as long as you can prove it was mis-sold to you, you might want to look at the PPI threads on this site, it will give you more info on that matter. As with any loan early repayment will occurr fees, it might help if you had the contract as it will state what percentage is payable at differant stages of the loan. The site is full of people in similar circumstances and i'm sure you will be able to claim some intrest back, at some point, don't despair help is a hollow away.
  14. I do have one small question, did the buyer at the time sign anything to state that the depoist was NON-REFUNDABLE or was this just hear say on both sides, i know you state that e.mails were passed between you both at the time, regarding the money you hold. But was anything signed ? I can surely relate to your frustration at the sale falling through, looking at the thread you state, that you took the car from advertising companies, told other possible buyers that it had been sold etc etc What costs have been ocurred due to such, by re-moving the for sale advert? does it amount to the £500 you are holding? You state your NOT a motor dealer, and just a private seller, i would think the rules and regulations differ quite differantly between the two, you might want to look more into such before contacting the lost buyer again, as you could get into a tangle over this if the lost buyer gets dirty, so to speak. I would on a personnal note, add the costs that have been occurred, and deduct that sum from the £500 plus say 20% of whats left for your time, and refund the remainder. And put it down to a lesson learnt, i would'nt in future take part payment, only full monies on completion of sale.
  15. Hello chin up matey and hold tight, seems your doing every thing okay, the dca arent going to go away sadly, well not in my experiance there not, some else might say differant, i've been trying to get one dca off my back for 2 years and there still sending me weekly letters after the sar and non complince letters, etc etc sadly i've not read anywhere where a thread user has got a dca off there backs and got threats of court etc stopped, if some1 might know of some1 winning, id gladly like to read the thread..... see my link help needed with bank stuff or shywazz to see how i'm still in battle years after starting. All in all matey just keep smiling and chin up, keep the paper trail and hopefully one day there might just give up.
  16. Hello thread readers....... Just a up-date for this thread.. Received reply from NW with respect the SAR i sent in, there just wanted further information about the account, due to myself not having much information to give, its kinda hard to locate the information say NW, but yesterday i sent in account numbers from capquest which i hope will assist NW in the SAR. With respect Capquest there are still writing to me two or three times per week now, asking me to telephone there offices to discuss the matter, ive responded with replys seeking that any information/enquires there might have, that there put into writing, from which i will reply, however there insisting that i ring only, ( which i won't be doing ) Far as i am concerned i have covered all the angles with respect obtaining any information from capquest and even seeking the agreements that there hold the said debt or that there even own one? all o no avail, hence took stevens advice and have contacted NW direct to see what there hold about this matter, just now waiting on them with any results. Will keep up-dating thread untill matter resolved. Food for thought, every time i reply to capquests letters i send them recorded delivery, the postage costs to myself are getting silly, can i claim these costs back once everything is sorted, as capquest charge for every letter there send out to me, can i not charge them the same?
  17. Letter gone to NW awaiting reply, still getting letters in the mean time from Capquest demanding that i either pay the monies it shows or ring them asap, keep up dating as progresses.
  18. You don't state how many employers this change affects, changes to contracts have to be put to your union before there can be actioned against, 1st port of call would be to speak to your union rep, you will find also that the company can-not impliment any changes untill 90 days notice has been given in writing of such changes, this falls to 30 days dependent on the change. There is also a opt out clause to working more than 48 hours per week, have you signed this, again your union should be able to give more info on the matter, if you are not a member, this site might be able to give you some of the answers you seek, other than that, there are employment depts that deal with such matters, which again the addresses will be on this site. Acas - Home This site has assisted me many times over the years, even though i am a union member. Hope all goes well and that the changes benefit you aswell as the company.
  19. Opps comming from someone who thinks there are 30 days in the month of Feb ( look closer to own threads before commenting on others ) assist, help, even give advice, but pulling spelling mistakes yeah very contructive of you hehehehehe
  20. Not really sure but couldnt you claim from your Tax code for a milage allowance? think when you put in your tax returns, you could be eligible for some sort of tax relief. or think there a form you can put forward to the tax office to claim such allowances.
  21. Hello. Not sure how much you paid, but is it worth leaving to chance, if it was myself, i would be present when the landlord/landlady came to do the inventory, that way i would know of any thing that might need challanging, since you are all leaving on differant dates, couldnt you decide among urselves for one of you to return on all of ur behalves, and wittness the inventory been made, i'm sure you could all sign a letter to that affect, that way someone is there when the land person arrives, if any costs is involved you could share that between you, but it will safe guard any moneis you might all be due after leaving. I wouldnt leave to chance that the land person would be honest, not that all would try to rip people off, but you hear so many stories nowadays. hence why the new laws on depoists came out this year. If you want to get your full moneis back, i suggest you be there when the inventory is compelled. Remember to take photos and make notes of anything you think is worth noting, incase of dispute. you will have a copy of the inventory when you 1st moved in, between you, you can go round the house/flat to make sure things match and are as when you started the agreement.
  22. Hopefully this site might give you the address you seek Welcome to lloydstsb.com
  23. I'll pop a sar in the post to them tomorrow, i thought since capquest wrote to NW after i sent them the sar and there replyed stating that no contract/information etc was held by NW then no debt was there for capquest to chase? as detailed in the thread i am not aware of any debt when i stopped using the account, i made enquires through the NW website, using the ref numbers capquest gave me, however no information was sent back by NW, and since capquest contacted NW for the information, and that came back no information held i thought that was the end of the matter. i did hold account with NW many years ago, but stopped using it nearly 7 years ago, and the balance was nil. so any debt capquest seem to be seeking, i am not aware off, untill i 1st got contact from capquest last year, i have not admitted any debt, just seeked sar information from capquest but that came back blank. I would presume NW would have some form of information about me, since i did hold an account, however going by capquests letters, NW don't seem to have details on there data base anymore, but i'll make contact with them direct with a sar as you recommend. cheers Steven
  24. Hello Steven thought every1 had gone on holiday with there refunds hehehehehehehe thanks for replying, have i indeed sent for the information held about me, the reply i got is detailed above, but to remind all, NW have no details regarding this matter, and the postal order was returned lol albeit not in my name, so useless to me now. Capquest continue to chase me, yet by all accounts there isnt anything to chase, according to NW. i have done all to get this matter resolved to no joy, hence was hoping that one last letter, which might be hiding on this site, can be sent to stop capquest in contacting me once and for all. Thanks steven for reading, i know this thread has been going sometime now, just as i think everything is sorted i get another letter from capquest seeking what the thread started with? confused me too.
  25. Hiya thought it might need moving, as threads for natwest capquest etc but since involves both might it be best to stay here hehehehe, anyhow, am still hoping one or more thread users can assist with next stage, as come to a stuck time on this? plsssssssssssss thank you
