  1. Might i suggest you get your son to log into his account on e.Bay and go to the forums on the site, and get direct assistance from the many users on your behalf, or even e.mail the cheeky person and ask them what there up to, if you have there user name etc, i'd fast track a e.mail to them, and i'd be rather blunt too. Sorry can't help much can only go by experiences. E.Bay must have Two service providers e.mail addresses or Two CC or debit card on file if both at your address, ask them. If you can't get into E.bay let me know and i'll pop in and ask for you.
  2. I appricate your concerns over this matter, i too would be unhappy, have you contacted paypal to see if there are also TWO accounts set up with them, this might be where the funds are going for the second account ? only a thought, but might be worth looking into. Also another thought, if you have moved to your home recently, maybe the old addresse still has a account open with E.bay, hence two open accounts same address but differant names.
  3. Hello there , thought this site might be of use to you, SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers there are forums that deal with any telephone number not just 0845 and 0870 guys and girls on the forums can locate the company and names within minutes or you might want to consider a number search in Google. Good luck in tracking down this caller, i too hate peeps whom ring and don't leave contact details, i normally don't bother trying to ring back, if its important there will try again.
  4. Hello. I've just been into E.Bay to address this matter in there forums, you will find that persons registering with E.Bay can only have ONE account per household. so if you have registered, mayb one of urs sons has hence why the confusion. E.Bay make it clear before signing up that there is only one account per household. this stops as you state, bidding for items that you might be selling to increase the sale values. You could contact E.Bay and explain this might be the case and that you are prepared to close one account ( thats if one of yours sons has got one ) Other than that, there are other selling sites that are getting growing numbers, might even be better than E.Bay, given time.
  5. Food for thought, i am insured with Sainsburys and after the 1st year my renewal premium only dropped by £125.93 so i went on the money market price check site, and in putted my details for a cheaper quote, hey pressed oh, guess whom was the cheapest, Yes you guessed correct, Sainsburys......Beating the postal renewal by over £150.00 and dropping the excess by £100.00 big big big differance, so i phoned the sainsburys insurance line, and explained all of my findings, the VERY nice lady on the other end informed me that there were unable to match the internet price over the telephone, and kindly suggested/informed me to cancel my renewal, and then buy the insurance from the web site, at the greatly reduced price, i asked what would happen to my NCD and was informed that would be linked together and would recieve the discount in the price, So not only did i get the insurance for a greatly reduced price but also stayed with the same insurance company, i sent the renewal documentation pack back with the word cancel through it, and within 3 days i recieved the new insurance pack and details. So not only did i get better level of cover but at a great price. Will be doing the same at the renewal next year. A VERY Happy customer indeed
  6. Sorry to hear your unfortunate loss at the hands of the loan company, i also sent documentation to a company, there didnt send the items back, so i rang and rang in the end threatned with sending them a invoice, very next day the items arrived back to me, chances are your items are still with the company, and havnt even been sent out to you, since you have now re-placed them, i would guess there owe you the money, did you get proof that there said there would refund you the costs of replacments, etc.
  7. Anyone got any thoughts on the massive rises in petrol costs? Before the budget petrol was hovering around the 90.9 to 91.9 and falling from pervious highs. BP and SHELL and no dought other big petrol providers have indicated huge profits and stated that the price of oil has lowered in the last few weeks/month, althought there state that there are producing less oil/petrol due to some refinieries closing... In the last Two weeks BP near myself ie Birmimgham have rised there prices not once not twice but FOUR times today it stands at 97.9 I know prices rise at times but the odd penny ere another penny there and before you know it, the price will reach over the pound a litre mark. In Oct the Budget increase will be added to the price of the petrol, but how many increases will occur before then, at the currant rate, i can see the price hitting the pound plus mark well before Oct. The dearest price i have found is BP at 97.9 and the cheapest been Tesco and Asda at 93.9 anyone got cheaper or have a dearer station?? Few years back, there had demos when petrol started to rise in silly amounts, i recall the big convour going down the M6 in protest at the prices at the pumps, where are these demos now, or is that a thing of the past, are us car/van and wagon drivers just putting up with big fuel providers rising the cost of Petrol whenever there desire. These companies must think we don't notice the pennies there keep adding, there know we need the fuel to get from A to B hence there have us over a barrel so to speak, (excuse the pun lol ) Happy motoring all and drive safe, clunk click
  8. We all ere at my work wish the VERY safe return of Madeleine and the person/persons whom have taken her to face any action deemed fit by the laws of justice. There must be thousands of thread readers whom have seen the story on the news and read newspaper reports about this little girl, our hearts go out to her family/friends during this difficult time. The debates that follow the safe return of Madeleine will no dought, try lay blame at the parents door, and how the police acted slowly to start the hunt, etc etc but all that matters at the moment is getting little Madeleine back home to the family that love and care for her.
  9. Thank you for all your views on this unsavaioury matter, yes indeed it is a sorry issue, helping family at there time of need and been told we are not getting our money back, after disscussing this matter further with my partner, we have taken the step to just take this as a lesson, and have come to the conclusion we won't be seeing that money back, whilst it is somewhat up-setting, we have decided to just distance ourselves from them, so that we don't fall into lending them money again, i have now paid my other half the money myself, as why should she be out of pocket, after all she works as i do and earns her own money, so felt only right she got the money back, so in a way it is me that my sister owes the money to, and i know her repaying is a no go area. If i thought taking her to court etc would get the money back, i would, but knowing her for her ways, it would only harm the children she as got, and i wouldnt want that on my mind, we have peace of mind that we kept the home for them for now, but guess it won't be long before there get into the same postion again, only next time, there won't have us to bail them out. Again thanks for the info and we will think twice before helping people out in the future.
  10. Not a easy thread to post really, my Sister/family were hours from a court appearance, wheres her family home was going to be taken from her, due to non payment of rent £1872.86 , i discussed with my partner, how we could assist her, although i was reluctant to do so, as i have helped her/family many times in the past, however upon this occassion, my partner decided she would help them and informed her and her husband that this time we would only help, in the understanding it was a LOAN and needed to be paid back, both of them agreed, so we drove to there home town from ours at speed, to get to the courts before the hearing, thankfully we got there in time, the court accepted the payment to clear the monies, and she was allowed to stay in the house. My partner drew up a sort of agreement for them to sign, which there did, now after seeking the money back there have informed my partner that there wont be paying anything back as familys help each other and although this might sound bad, There said to her, take us to court and there will let us pay 50p per week back. ( there words not ours ) It has now been 8 months since my partner has been asking for this money, by letter/phone and e.mail and personnel visit, all to no avail. I am reluctant to get involved, since i did not loan them the money, my partner did, the info i need, is can my partner now start any proceedings to reclaim this money from them, if so, whats the the proceedure on matters like this. I personnally know there are now in the postion to repay, there are just refusing to do so. This matter has put another wedge between the family, but since it is my partner that is owed the money, i have decided to stand by her, and informed her that she must do what she must do to get the money back.

  12. Very intresting post some good points throughout. will follow post with eagerness, M.O.T do you have one, as like you state, there might be going after the scrap metal route, and offer again that value, i really thought such cars were worth alot more than £1.500 given its age and condition. hope everything works out in the end.
  13. For 2 years you didnt notice the direct debit or standing order going out of your bank? :o you must be loaded not to notice. i was under the understanding that any insurance is re-newed every 12 months, and that you would have been sent renewal details etc, or was it a continous policy? think you might have to contact phones for you and seek as to why there have continued taking for a policy that you no longer needed, or was it signed for a minium period like some companies seek, sure another member can give more info to assist.

  17. RESULT post arrived today with my Document back at long last, only took 3 phone calls and 5 weeks to get the paperwork back, lesson learnt there always send photo copies.
  18. Hello. The 12 plus 2 days are now up for capquest, which is the second letter i send them, now there have failed in sending me the seeked information? looked in the disk i have with letters on it and there doesn't seem to be a second letter, unless me lost it somewhere on the disk. thank you. or do i now wait a further 40 days?
  19. Hello, after you bought the phone and you recieved it, i'm guessing you put your own SIM card into the phone, which tells me it isn't the contract that has been cancelled, as the seller wouldnt have sold a sim with it, so the only other reason i can think off, is that the phone has had a block put on it, by means of the IMEI number been logged and blocked by either the e.bay seller or the person he/she might have bought it from b4 selling in on the site. If i'm correct, the phone can be unblocked if you contact the phone provider, and proof that you bought the phone in good faith, other than that, you had a contract with the E.bay seller, you bought a item there were selling, and now don't have use of the item, if it were myself, i would write to the person concerned if you have there address, requesting the return off the monies paid, due to the reasons you have given on the thread, also let them know, that no contact say within 7 working days, the matter will be forwarded to the police for investigation, by the way do you have the seller user name on the e.bay site.
  20. Going with what Buzby has said i would opt for seeking whether you really owe this money and whom to? if you do owe it, are there any charges that have been appiled since the debt was taken to court, as you might be able to claim these back, just because it states you owe money, is it the real amount, think you might have just owed £25 then over the years with intrest etc it has taken it to the amount you have just found out about, if i were you, i would 1st seek what the debt relates to, there should be a company name that took you to court in the file check, contact them and seek the information all about the charges and amount, okay it might take time, but tell the people you are wanting to rent from, that the two ccjs are disputed ( when you start the ball rolling that is ) hence not paying them as yet, i'm sure there will understand this, when you have looked at the paperwork you get sent, you will know if you owe the money, from which it is up to you whether you pay it, and the costs etc on top, i had a ccj for £418.00 which i knew nothing about, when i made enquires about this, it was all charges that built the debt up, i pay the correct amount that was owed, £44.10 and the company never challeged the charges, and the courts marked the debt as SATISFIED. Find out what the debts are for 1st before deciding to pay them, you might find you really don't owe as much as the ccj states.
  21. Thanks Boris for pointing my error out, it is in deed a bank holiday, well for some anyhow, me working. cheers for that.
  22. Hello just read the thread about the horrid numbers 0870 and 0845 if you really want to not pay the cost of these calls, go onto the site at SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers type in the company name that you are wanting to ring, and it will show a alterative number that isnt costing you 12p plus per minute. take care.
  23. Update to thread, i phoned Virgin yesterday just to seek whether there did have proof of sending the document back to me, and blow and be hold, this time i was informed that the letter had'nt been sent as told in earlier phones calls, and that it was to be sent that day, no post from them today, lets see if monday brings my documents back to me, if not, i'll be sending the letter of compliants and invoice for replacment. :-|
  24. Hello fellow thread readers and writers, just food for thought really, I sent a Very important document to Virgin on the 5th April 2007, on the 18th April i rang them to seek the return of the document and was informed that there postal department would return it and it would take up to 5 working days, upon the 25th April it still hadn't arrived, i telephoned them again, thankfully i got the 0800 number from say no to 0845/0870 otherwise the cost of calling them would be mounting, again i was informed that the document would be sent back to me, still on the 2nd May no document had been returned, after phoning them again, i was informed that their postal department had sent out the paperwork, and it should of arrived, informing them that it hadn't, i asked for their complaints departments address, so that i could write to them to seek they look into the missing document, after been put on hold for near TEN minutes, a rather sheepish lady informed me to address my complaint to the address on there website, unhappy with the happenings, i also informed the lady i would be enclosing a invoice for the cost of replacing the lost document, hence would like a name to send this to, by recorded delivery, again i was put on hold, this time for 5 minutes, after she returned her tone changed, she informed me that she had just spoke to her MANAGER and was told to let me know, that any invoice i might be thinking of sending them, would not be paid, as there are not held responsible for lost items of post, asking if there had proof of postage, i was informed that there postal offices just frank their mail and don't hold information on every letter sent out, hence no proof there had really returned my document. I have been in touch with the Country Courts whom the document was from in the 1st place, and have been informed that a replacement copy would be £15.00. The reason i place this thread is to seek whether i CAN send Virgin a invoice for the cost of the document that there lost, and whether virgin are responseable for losing the item, and can i charge for my time in chasing this matter up. Any help on this matter greatly appricated, thank you.
  25. Hello, long time no hear i hear you think/say.... Yep CAPQUEST have finally written to me, got the letters end of last week, there offered me a discount if i opted to pay so much there would knock a percentage off each time i paid something to them, wait i thought, why should i pay for something i still dont know i owe, after all these months there send a letter out the blue, so i replyed seeking information and encloseing the £1 postal order, hence giving them 12 + 2 days to reply etc , got another 3 letters by return post, quick by there standards i know, all staing the same. that account on hold while there endovour to contact NW, wait i thought, didnt i do all this last year to get the matter sorted, also its gone past the 6 year mark, so the debt if owed can-not be enforced? Had feeling when there went quite that one day i would hear back from them, and woohoo i am correct, guess i'll get another 10 letters plus from them, before there go quite again for another 7 months, is there anything i can do, for once and for all to get this company off my back for good???? am in day 3 of the 12, and know there have a further 40 days to comply with the information i seeked, but if the suppoeingly owed debt is over 6 years now, is there any point me going through this route again??? look forward to assistance soon thank you.
