  1. Sorry for off-topic: What would happen to defaults on CRA's if a company gets shutdown?
  2. Yes, I have sent all the info to the company requesting they complete the forms. If they do it, it would only cost £45. If I have to compete the set aside, it would cost me £80. Made a few references that it has damaged my credit record and that they were meant to cancel the CCJ before the hearing date, which they never did.
  3. Reason why I would like to boiler company to do it, is apparently it would only cost £45. If I did it, it would apparently cost £80. Don't know why the difference. but seeing that I offered to pay the £45, it would work out cheaper for me. lol.
  4. thanks. Yes....£24. Unbelievable.
  5. Well I got a letter from the company concerned that states I paid the amount, £24, in full before the judgement date. Spoke to Northampton CBCC this morning who said the company should have cancelled the application before the judgement date, and they should now fill in form N244 and pay £45 court fees to have the judgement cancelled. I offered the pay the £45 just to get rid of this bogus CCJ. Hopefully the company will now make it a priority to get this sorted out. *sigh*
  6. What area of the country are you in? My work mobile (Vodafone) has over the past 3 months showed a huge drop in signal quality as well. I'm in East Anglia. Colleague of mine who works in the Kent area has the same problem. Vodafone France signal is stronger than Vodafone UK signal!
  7. Believe me, I've learnt more from you than I could ever presume to "teach" you
  8. http://www.ico.org.uk/for_the_public/topic_specific_guides/online/spam_emails And QQ was misusing information they were for the most part not legally allowed to use according to the EU Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications I received £100 compensation from BT for spamming me thanks to a complaint I laid with the ICO regarding their spamming emails.
  9. Just a quick question: Do I need to wait for council to conclude their investigation before approaching the LGO? Council have said to give them 20 working days, Rossendales have not responded to my previous letter addressed to their complaints person.
  10. I signed up for a free credit report on checkmyfile and discovered a CCJ against me for £24 from a company that I thought I had dealt with the beginning of last year. It is a boiler servicing company that came to sort out our boiler in the home we rent, and due to communication problems from our letting agent, dates and times were confused, which resulted in cancellation fees being added to the account and I refused to pay this. This company eventually applied for ccj against me on MCOL. I spoke to the person in charge at the boiler company, explained that due to our letting agents not informing us of the time his company was supposed to be repairing the boiler etc, I would not be paying the amounts. Eventually sorted it out with the company that I would only pay the engineer call-out fee of £24. I went online at MCOL and put in my defence the whole story that a 3rd party did not inform us, and that the company and I had come to an agreement that I would pay the outstanding £24 on the 23rd of January 2012. (Next day) this was done. Judgement date was the 26th of January 2012. I rang up the boiler company now to speak to the accountant who I dealt with last year, who confirmed with me that he had received the paperwork, payment etc, and was very apologetic that I basically had a CCJ against me. He has promised to send 1st class letter on headed paper today that I had indeed paid the amount specified before the judgement date and that he considered the matter closed and should not have reached CCJ status. I rang up Northampton CCBC who confirmed that this was ok and that I should send them a copy of the letter. Question: What do I do now when I receive the letter? What forms do I need to complete to have this CCJ struck off my record? Any help greatly appreciated.
  11. Yeah, I will do that as well. Hit them from both sides. This is a small company, think one person does almost everything.
  12. Telling them to remove all illegal charges and to to amend my default date to the correct date as per guidelines?
  13. Ok, I have drafted them the following email. Any suggestions most welcome before I email them.
  14. No I never requested any rollover fees. I did not communicate with them at all after taking out the loan. I also never received a default notice, which they claimed to have posted to my address in 2011. I have requested a copy of this, as well as asked them why they defaulted the loan after 16 months.
  15. Dear All, I recently noticed a default on my file, which was marked as GOLD STAR FINANCE. On querying this with Experian, they replied that it was in fact Debit Card Loans, which was a sister company. I took out a payday loan on the 15th June 2010. Due to enormous pressure put on me by my favourite bailiff company and outstanding council tax, I was unable to repay this loan. I never heard anything further from them apart from a few phone calls in the beginning, then I changed jobs and never heard back from them again. The default on my credit file states the following: Date started: 15/06/2010 Default date: 24/10/2011 I emailed goldstar finance/debitcard loans and they supplied me with my account details. Claimed they sent of a default notice as well on the 26th October 2011. 16. Oh yes, I was very helpful: I included a copy of the Blaby Council LGO report for them. Sent same report to my MP, council CEO and council's official complaints department. Reminded all parties this was not the 1st time Rossendales levy random 3rd party vehicles for monetary gain.
  17. Yup, I know which one you mean. This one is/was certificated in Ipswich. Small update: Local MP investigating Council have replied (eventually) to formal complaint, saying they will investigate. Council CEO hasn't bothered to reply. Rossendales have not responded yet to my bombshell that we don't own a vehicle so they can go swivel for their illegal levy fees on a vehicle that they randomly found in the same street as our house.
  18. Yes, I would also send an email to your local MP as well. I have a thread going now where Rossendales have levied on a car and tried to force us to pay for the levy fee. Funny thing is, we don't even own a car. I complained to our local MP, Council and to Rossendales. MP got back in touch and said he will look into the matter. So complain away. Remind Rossendales about the Local Government Ombudsman Blaby Council report, and how they make a habit of levying on incorrect vehicles.
  19. Yes, I dropped an email to the same County Court that rossendales indicated he was certificated at. What I don't understand is Rossendales claims he was certificated at the County Court in November, but according to bailiff register his certification, at the same county court, expired 36 days after Rossendales claims he was certificated. It's neither here nor there, as levy is invalid, but I want to ensure Rossendales get another complaint against them if there are irregularities.
  20. Ok, got you. Well here goes: Bailiff "B", who came to visit us in March 2013 and levied on a random vehicle. I requested certification details from Rossendales. They replied that he had been certified at "ABC" County Court on the 28th of November 2011. I checked the online register for Bailiff "B". No results were found. I emailed the bailiff register, who responded with the following: I thought a certificate was valid for 2 years? Would the bailiff register not have been updated within the last year and a half?
  21. Just an update on this: I received a response from Rossendales over the weekend. As I correctly predicted, they have levied on a random vehicle that I don't know who it belongs to. We live at the bottom of a Close, and glancing out of my window now, I see about 8 vehicles all within about 30 meters of our property. They never addressed all my questions regarding the two bailiffs that visited our property, one in February, who they called a "First visit bailiff" (No certification details were given for this one, even though 1st visit fee was charged), but the details were given of the 2nd bailiff who visited in March and did this random levy on a vehicle. So I repeated my questions they did not answer in my reply to them, and then dropped the bombshell that I had no idea who the owner was of the vehicle. I helpfully attached a copy of the Blaby council report of the LGO against Rossendales, and reminded them that my case was not a random isolated case. I have also been in contact with the CEO of the local council (who hasn't bothered to reply yet), as well as my local MP (An aide has already responded and said the MP will look into the case and respond to me in writing asap) Now I have a question to ask, but would like to keep it off thread for the moment. Could I please ask someone more knowledgeable about bailiff certification than myself a question via PM and see if it seems as fishy as I think it does?

  23. I can confirm that whatever fees are paid through the Rossendales website (which still seems to be down), they take their fees first and then pass on the rest to the Council. this would result in the £42.50 still showing as outstanding (before you paid the £50 to the council.) I was told this by Rossendales themselves, as I have a dispute with them at the moment as well regarding illegal levy fees.
