Hi All,

I had been a customer of NTL broadband since 2002 paying £18 per month then in April this year after virgin took over I saw that they had an offer on, 2 for £20 (TV & broadband) so I signed up, the TV was installed and I forgot all about it then on the 9th July Virgin phoned me and said that if I didn’t pay £32 immediately my services would be disconnected, I questioned the bill because I had seen that virgin were taking payments out of my bank by direct debit, what the guy said to me was that when they installed the TV no new direct debit had been set up nor had the current one been increased so I owed them 3 months service = £6, non direct debit charge = £15 and late payment charge = £11. I had not had any bills or anything asking me for the money so I told the guy I wasn’t paying that then I wrote to them straight away to complain, I didn’t get a reply but I did get another letter about 10 days later demanding that I pay up, I sent another letter enclosing a copy of the original to the person that had sent that letter and today I have received a letter from Moorcroft debt recovery demanding £39.54 on behalf of Virgin. I don’t know what to do next because they are just ignoring me?? If anyone can advise that would be great and thanks in advance.

Something is not right. Since VM claim the money they want from the bank, if they're taking the wrong amount, that's their problem. So I'd be demanding a refund of the LPC. As for Moorcrot, tell them the matter is under dispute as their client has not taken the funds from your bank that you authorised them to.
