Hi there,

Is it against data protection laws for the bank to ring you and tell someone else that they are ringing from my bank?

For example....

I actually work for a financial company.. BOOO!!! i know but it pays the bills for now. Now my bank Lloyds TSB called up my work and left a message with a colleague saying... can i speak to (my name), when asked who they were they said my bank.

Now this caused me a bit of a problem as where I work there is a rule that u should get your slary paid into an account run by them..... which obvioualy I dont....

should Lloyds tsb have actually said they were calling from my bank??????? They did not actually say Lloyds Tsb... but I didnt think they were allowed to even say bank/building society... is this breaching any form of data protection??

Thankyou!
