Hi everyone I'm new to this and haven't a clue what I'm doing but would be really grateful for some advice! I have started the ball rolling with Abbey and have sent 2 cheques to cover the cost of the 2 accounts I have for them to send me the statements of how much I've been charged. I sent the letter March 14th. I have received letters back from them saying that they are dealing with my case and then today I received a letter from them stating that the charges were applied correctly and as I had insufficient available funds at the time they are unable to agree to a refund. I haven't yet got to that stage of asking for a refund I was just asking for my statements on the amount of charges etc. They have cashed the 2 cheques I sent but have not sent me the information I asked for. They have given me 8 weeks to reply otherwise my file will be closed! Can any one suggest on what action I should take now?

Any advice gratefully received. x:confused:

Hello Pixie and welcome to CAG

You must avoid rushing into this, because sueing a bank is not a simple matter and you must ensure that you understand the process and get everything right.

Before proceeding you MUST spend time studying the FAQs and other general guidance, where all the basics are explained.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/

You should then start a thread at the appropriate bank forum so that you can report developments and everyone can study your case. You can also read all the other cases to see what has been happening with your own bank.

If you want quicker advice you can call into the chatroom at any time. however, this is a self-help forum, so you need to study the background yourself before asking unnecessary questions.

Good luck

Varangian
