Hi all,

After reading about opening up a 'parachute' account incase A&L close my current one down, ive been applying (but keep being turnt down) for a new account elsewhere.

Ive tried Cahoot, Co-operative, Nationwide, Abbey - but ive been turned down by all of them.

I know my credit rating is poor and this is the reason why im being rejected.

does anyone have any ideas please?!

Regards,

Tim

Apply to Equifax or Experian and get a copy of your credit report. You may well have a default on your record. Do you have any CCJ's to your knowledge.

If all OK, go for a basic account that offers no overdraft/cheque guarantee etc. Post Office do non-status account as well I think.

There is a reason for not being able to get another account easily.

A number of banks offer basic accounts including Nat West. They offer a limited service, but accept anyone.

Should you be offered help that requires payment please report it to site team.
