Hello,

I would appreciate if someone can advise me on the following:

I have been on a DMP with the CCCS for the last 2 years, and I have 7 creditors in total - thing's seem to be ticking along and I don't really hear from the creditors that much, apart from when they want to offer me a deal on settling.

Should I look to claim back late payment, missed payment charges etc from these creditors, or leave thing's as they stand?

I am concerned that if I am able to pursue these creditor's, and then do so that they might get their backs up and cause me more strife.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hello Young,I wont be very helpfull but I saw on a message that you can still claim your charges.

I came here in january cause i was so desperate and spent hours reading mails. And now I m about to star my DPM with CCCS,is it a good company?

I ve got 2 creditors barclays and barclaycard.CCS asked me a lot per month leaving me with very little but i m happy i need to pay back my loans.I m planning to claim my charges as well, but I just wait 2 months time for CCCS to deal with them.FOR DMP management CCCS is free but sometimes I say it might be better with a company who charges me but will do a good job cause they get pay ,don t know really.

But start your claim ,good luck to you .

Don t forget to buy your sheet of self adhesive envelope,I ve received mine friday .

Hello canelle06,

Firstly, thanks for the support and advice, it all counts - I also wish you luck in your endeavours.

In my experience CCCS has been excellent. They tailored my DMP to advantage, with good payments to my creditor's - Barclaycard is one of my creditor's also.

It good that you are taking ownership of your debts, and you have the correct mindset in that you want to pay back your dues... well done it's a good start!

Personally, I would never go with a company that charges, firstly as you are in debt and you are better off using that money towards paying of your current debts, secondly I have heard some not too favourable experiences.

Cheers,

Welcome to the site.

Sorry that it has taken time.

Yes go after all your charges from all the creditors.

If you have no statements, send a dpa request to each one.

Once you have the statements, pursue the recovery of the charges by following the procedures set out.

You are entitled to request that you have the right of appropriation in settlements, that is to say payment directly to you by cheque.

I see no need for any involvement by third parties here in recoverring these charges this is YOUR money.

Accounts that are subject to debt collection agencies and are wholly or in part construed as a result of unlawful penalty charges can be placed on hold while the dispute continues.

Hope this helps.
