I actually thought this letter was a scam but after much thought i realised i have not SORN my second motor.

The car was registered to my old address due to forgetfulness and a poor memory.

I have now got this fine from Pastdue asking that i pay £80.

Is there any way of challenging this.

I remember many years ago i got a similar fine, i ignored it and it eventually disappeared.

What  is the best way to handle this. £80 fine and date of offence is 01-06-23.

its NOT A FINE, their letter does not use that word, read it properly.

its a summary charge levied by the DVLA

you can IGNORE the powerless DCA.

plenty of exact same threads here already.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

It may depend on the claim. If it is for the Late Licensing Penalty, that is treated as a civil debt due to the crown, and is not limited to 6 months. Other licensing matters may be summary offences, which are limited to 6 months.

@dx100uk Thanks for your reply. I read the post you linked to and its very interesting and it makes everything very clear. Also thanks for correcting me i keep using the word 'fine' in the wrong context. Maybe one day it will sink in ;)

@Montego many thanks for your reply. Thanks for clearing that up and i can just ignore their claim in this situation. ;)
