Left coffee on machine at petrol station - worried they will report me

I filled up from a costa coffee machine at a petrol station for a coffee worth approx £3, but then after I realised they had the cup sizes wrong so filled another correct one and left the original on the machine.

 

A staff member asked me if it was mine and I said no and he took it away.

 

I paid for my fuel, the second coffee and groceries and then left the petrol station.

 

I wasn’t trying to be deceptive at all, I was just very tired, needed a coffee and just wanted to get on the road.

 

Nothing else was said but now I have started to think about it Im worried they will report me to the police as this will be on cctv and I suspect the staff member saw me on there which is why he asked.

 

Should I do anything?

Even if they did bother to look at CCTV which would cost more than the coffee to do ...there is nothing anyone let alone the police would/could do to you 

 

Happens 1000's of time a day across the country.

 

Forget ignore move on!!

Think of it this way, if you had ordered it at Costa themselves and they had the cup size wrong then remade it. Would you be charged for the wrong one? Nope. And as DX said, the cost of the coffee is likely pennies. I doubt anyone would care.
