All Trump had to do to get re elected was make some empathetic speeches and defer to his scientists.

 

He screwed it up. He’s done , it’s over.

Problem is, the American people are dying of Covid and he is out playing golf. It's like Marie Antoinette, let them eat cake!

 

People laugh and snark about Boris but ultimately he had empathy, ultimately he flattened the curve of the disease, ultimately he bailed the population out financially.  Trump did none of those things.

 

4 months ago there was no doubt in my mind that Trump would win, This will be studied by our great grandchildren in history books as to how rapidly things can turn.

 

And before anyone says the polls are wrong, they are at 4 times the margin of error!!! There are 3 months now until the election, Biden is not Hillary Clinton, no mud is sticking. In fact Biden doesn't have to do a thing, just give Trump enough rope and he'll hang himself.

Yup, Johnson did a poor job, as did Macron, Spain, Italy, just nobody in this country follows any other country aside from the US and Australia.  The Belgian PM is taking, deservedly a lot of flack.

 

But, not one of them, Johnson included can be compared with Trump.  He is on the spectrum of normality, and believe me I don't like Boris one bit.  Trump is like Marie Antoinette, telling the people to eat cake.  The population is dropping like flies, but he is playing golf, tweeting about fake news, boasting about his achievements and some cognitive test a 5 year old could complete.

 

Lets not forget this is the man in control of the worlds largest nuclear aresnal, and has the ability to destroy every major city on earth. All in all it makes the likes of Boris, Macron etc, seem like small fry.

Trump is done, he’s going to lose Pennsylvania and Georgia. He’s desperate, Biden will be the winner by tomorrow at the latest.

 

Trump can whine all he wants but it’s curtains for him.

I just do a bit of twitter scrolling. Having lived in Canada a while I used to take a big interest in US politics. I find this site very informative since 2007

Basically he’s bang on to overtake Trump in Pensylvania and win by a large margin. Georgia a very narrow margin.

In other news there is stuff and all he can do, aside from ignore the pandemic, which is what he's been doing all along anyway.  If he wants, the US government can come and remove him by force, which honestly would be the best piece of TV ever. He can't do anything stupid militarily because Biden / Harris are now in the decision loop. All he can do is spread his BS and hold rallies.

He's doing that knowingly and deliberately. And even when he's gone and slung out of the White House, he will keep doing it.

I do think that it's wrong to compare Johnson and Trump, there are many reasons for this, both personality wise and actions that have been taken, although it is tempting to go down that route. 

 

It's also worth taking a look outside of the English language bubble and see what's going on in places like Switzerland at the moment, in terms of the pandemic their response is far more laissez faire than even the US.  In fact no European Country seems to be a particularly shining example of what we should be doing better at the moment.

 

Not to say that our response hasn't been a shambles but context is always a good thing.

As I said much is true about Johnson, but Johnson is not doing this.

 

1 Denying Covid exists , deliberately running super spreader events .

 

2. Not intervening at all to stop Covid spreading.

 

3.Throwing out racist dog whistles

 

4. Encouraging violence

 

5 Actively discouraging mask use

 

6 Preaching out random dangerous conspiracy theories, 

 

Plenty of other reasons why he isn’t comparable in any way other than superficially.  Not saying Johnson isn’t awful, but it’s just ridiculous to try and compare apples and oranges here.

Trump is indeed dumb as rocks , perhaps the real fear is if a Future smarter, slicker, wannabe Idi Amin wanted to instigate a coup, he’d have a pretty good precedent .

You are preaching to the converted here. Sadly I have lots of friends and family in the US who think Biden stole the election. Some are being quite public about it on Facebook.

Not all of them, most of my family are democrats die hard. But my wife’s family , the men think Trump is great and that the democrats would do anything to unseat their great leader. I got one friend who is tweeting stupid conspiracy theories also, things like pictures of a grave yard, and jo Biden saying thanks for the votes guys!

 

Although to cheer you up a Reuter’s poll has shown 80% of the US believes Biden won, including 60% of Republicans.

Trump only cares about himself and he can’t face the fact he’s going to be irrelevant in 50 days. I don’t get it myself , in my wife’s family who are nearly all in America, all the men vote for Trump. The women quietly roll their eyes and vote Democrat!

It’s interesting so I started working for a US based company back in mid 2015, they flew me over to Connecticut head office to get trained up. There was a lot of love for Trump from everyone on my team. He’s different he’s a good businessman, he’ll be tough on Russia Etc. Then as Hillary became the Challenger, I was over for the sales kick off, the sentiment was ‘anyone but Hillary’. So I kind of understand how he got elected in the first place. But it’s unbelievable to me how he got 70 million votes Second time round after the way he handled the pandemic !
