I have just had an alert on my credit expert to say that a default has been added to my file,

I am so mad I have a great credit and I have no idea what to do, I checked it last week and It was not on here.

I have never had dealings with this company and they have today added a default

It states added on 14.05.2014

date of default 22.08.2008 for £250.00 nothing else ,

any suggestions

Get a notice of correction put on it by the credit agency and then get a complaint in writing to their data controller.

Mmf do not follow the rules or law so make sure you do. Get a clear written paper trail of everything you do.

One question. Could this be an updated default that another creditor added. Mmf have been known to take a few months to update a default with their details.

In any case it will fall off in a few months if it is legit.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

you need to file a notice of correction and get a complaint going then. Especially if you say you have no debts. Even if the default was there while you paid the debt to the OC, it wouldnt have been sold as there would be no debt there.

If they BS you or refuse to remove it if it is incorrect, then you need to report them to the regulators and consider legal action to force them to remove it.
