I part exchanged my car via a company over the internet. When they asked the condition of my car i said it was average! I was asked no more questions and believed i gave an honest opinion of it. Anyway, the exchange all went through i received my new car and a driver took away my old car. I have sine had an email from the broker saying that the have a problem with my car, i did not disclose that there was a worn area on the leather to the drivers seat and a bad paintwork repair to the bonnet!i have had the car for just over a year, yes i was aware of the leaather been worn, but no idea regarding painwork, i,m not an expert . The car is used so of course there are going to be scratches and a few signs of wear. They are saying the based there offer of part exchange on the information i gave to a colleague which was " the car is in average condition " . And that because i didn't disclose the actual condition they now want a contribution towards the repairs! Can they do this, afterall i was never prompted to elaborate on the condition, i said average and the conversation was moved on. I don't know what to do now as i do not have more funds to shed out to them after a £500 deposit. They haven't actually told me how much they want yet, but i,m scared....iv,e never been in this situation before. Someone please advise asap

They have paid you for the car right? If so, I would ignor them.. They should have checked it over when buying. Their own fault for being sloppy.

Well yeah! It was all done over the internet, they are the middle man. They got me the finance and then found me e car. They said 4300 for mine and the rest finance. The finance co paid them, a few days later i got my car and they took mine away to sell. The strange thing is, my new car was delivered on the tues and they didn't check my old car until Friday! I still think of they sent it to auction they would still make money on it. I,m just worried they might try and take my car back and give me my old one back!
