Hi guys!

Been pointed this way from Money Saving Expert! Looks and feels very similar so hopefully I won't get too lost!

Although seeing lots of posts about reclaiming charges I've never paid much attention as it didn't affect me! Or so I thought!

Have just stumbled across some 5 year old statements that escaped the shredder and taking a look it seems I paid quite a few 'referral fees' and 'unarranged borrowing fees'!

So basically although it would have been asked a hundred times before, where do I start?

ps. my smilies don't seem to be working or I would have jazzed this post up a bit! ;)

Hi

Welcome to the forum, the more people we have on board the more strength we have to fight these unlawful charges. I am sure you have a great many questions, and would therefore advise that you to have a look at the FAQ's:

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5

In the same section you will also find a step-by-step guide which will help you through the process. The most important thing to do though, is to spend time looking through the forum at the experiences of others.

It is advisable to spend at least two days doing this - I understand that you are in a hurry to get your money back - but time spent now in learning and understanding the process will benefit you later. It could also save you from making costly mistakes.

All the best with your claim. Please keep us informed of your progress, and remember that we are all in this together. If you meet any problems, or have questions that are not answered elsewhere (and most have been), please post them to the forum.

Thanks for the response Alan! :D

Luckily I've got tomorrow off some am gonna spend the whole day printing stuff off and reading it all twice! ;)

Can I just ask whether I can claim for the unarranged borrowing which was £14 per 'period' or is it just referral fees?

Am going to send off my DPA letter tomorrow.

Should I address it to this person or just my local branch?

Well I sent my DPA letter off on April 5th by registered delivery but haven't heard anything as of yet. I know they are entitled to 40 days to comply but I just assumed I would get a reply rather quickly!

How long in general are people waiting?

Well have gone through my statements and the total of charges comes to £777! :D

Was hoping it would be more than that but never mind!

Am preparing my letter to reclaim the charges but was wondering where to send it again? Do I send it to Mr Lyons again as he only passed it on to someone else!
