Hi hope someone can help me here.

My daughter has a car on Finance over 5 years, the original CCR was with Royal Bank of Scotland, but has since been transfered to Black Horse Finance. The agreement was taken out in 2008. (Just looking at the agreement, I see her surname has an extra letter in it)

She paid all her monthly payments until Dec 2010 when she became unemployed, she missed 5 monthy payments. She is now in employment and has been paying her normal monthly payment since May 2011.

She seems to receive a default notice each month, but not taken any notice as she is now paying.

Today she has received a letter from Nationwide Collection Services Ltd. Copy attached.

She has not had any termination notice.

Any suggestions do we need to reply & if so how to reply?

thats just a std threat-o-gram

they have no legal powers to do nowt to her.

i'd suggest if she hasn't got all the statements

to get them via an SAR

then study them to see if there are any unlawful 'fees' [late/over/letter/phone]

she can reclaim

  • 11 months later...

Hi can anyone help I have steam coming out of my ears

I have been trying to sell a car for my daughter who has moved out of the country. In February of this year I asked Black Horse for a settlement figure and received a response from Nationwide Collection Services Ltd asking for £4000 as full & final settlement.

Since February the monthly payment has been made which totals just over £1000. As I have been not been able to sell the car I thought I would reduce the price, but before doing that I would ask for a new settlement figure.

I tried to phone Nationwide who gave me the last figure but got an answering machine saying the number was no longer asigned to a customer. I therefore telphoned Black Horse to ask for a settlement figure and was totally thrown when I was quoted a figure of £4300. When I asked for them to explain how it has increased from £4000 given in Feb she just said she didn't no why that figure was given, but that was what is was now.

I am tempted to not pay them anymore & then when it is passed to a debt collector negogiate a settlement figure.
