any ideas on which companies hire tower investigations to recover debts owed

i have also recieved a letter from them which was sent to my mums address even though i havn't lived there for the last 7 years when she threw me out. I am also really worried because they address the letter to a mrs alexandra hunt. hunt is my ex-partners and my young son's surname and i have never been known by this name or even been married so am really puzzled as to why they are trying to contact me using that incorrect name.

if they are using the name mrs a.hunt to contact me i can assume its got something to do with when i was living with my ex, which may i add i left him in july 2008 so who could possibly want me using that name, who thinks i live at my mums address and after that amount of time??

 

does anybody know if there is a list of what companies hire tower investigations to investigate us?? or have any ideas of even just a few companies because i know i owed money to a few people/companies when i left my ex partner in july 2008 but if i know who is trying to find me then im more prepared for it.

You will see how large the list is but I have checked with a colleague who tells me the do a lot of ''GONE AWAY''

tracing for mortgage/loan debtors who have moved without updating their addresses.

Just ignore them and Global Debt Recovery will crawl out of the woodwork - do not phone them!!! Tower and Global specialise in chasing statute barred debts

yeah, being statute barred don't mean they leave you in peace, sadly, they can I believe harangue you to the grave. although there should be legislation to stop them after the 6 years is up in my view. so be careful not to pay 'owt else you start the statute barred clock ticking again. Just ignore the bottom feeding scavengers that are towting around.

 

having said that, if any of your unpaid debts are more recent (within 6 years) then these are not statute barred. What is your objective in all of this? To avoid the debts? To pay what you can afford? If the latter then contact should be made with repayment proposals. If you don't pay 'em then you'll end up getting CCJs.

OFT Guidance states that is unfair to press for payment of a statute barred debt when the creditor has been

informed that the debtor is not going to pay!!

Continuing to do so amounts to harassment acts.

Yes, I just got one of their vague letters today, asking me to help them to establish/verify info they hold and that no info is disclosed to any third party.

 

I'm in contact with all my creditors so there's no-one that would be tracing me.

They do share information as they pass the information on to the debt collecting agencies - usually if you do not reply to their requests for a telephone call you will receive a letter from Global Debt Recovery. They are bottom feeders chasing old debts usually and trying to scare people into paying.

This is the kind of company that used to be called tracing agents, there are many companies now involved

in this business, they are employed by banks, solicitors,DCA's etc. even by high street stores which

offer hire/rentals on domestic appliances for GAIN information.
