Hi, I have received a threatening letter from santander due to an account in arrears of £5.26.

The account is in arrears because santander did not request the correct amount from my account.

I eventually managed to contact santander and they admitted their error before admitting it would now adversely affect my credit rating.

I am absolutely livid, is there anywhere I can go with this?

they should amend the record

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Also add that they should correct it within a set time priod say two weeks or you will report them to the information commisoners office as they are almost certainley in breach of the dat a protection act. Copy the letter to the credot referenc agencies, if thye sent you letter admittign there mistake copy that as well to the credit reference agencies. If they fail report them to the ICO and FSO trading standards amongst others. Misreporting your details is ilegal.
