I was on here earlier and i need help please. I have recieved one kind reply but none since. I sent a letter to my bank from one of the templates in the library stating...

Thank you for your letter dated xxxxxx. I respectfully decline your offer of settlement and request, once again, that you return to me all charges imposed on this account, totaling £xxxxxx

I will not accept the sum offered only as part settlement and on the clear understanding that I will pursue recovery of the remainder, with a County Court claim if necessary.

My letter before action sent previously indicates that you have until xxxxxx to respond before Court action commences. You are reminded that there will be no extension to this timescale.

I trust this clarifies my position.

is this fine or have i done anything wrong...please help me so i can make the next move.

Thank you all.. :)

There is need for a comma in this sentence and therefore may have confused the bank.

it should also read "I will accept the sum offered..."

take out the word "not"

"Banks are people that will lend you an umbrella when it's sunny, but demand it back the minute it starts raining"

Hi Team, The letter is ok but take out the NOT as you are prepared to take the sum mentioned. So it should read I will accept the sum offered only as part settlement and on the clear understanding that I will pursue recovery of the remainder. Other than that seems fine..
