Weren't me. The people to thank are Bankfodder and Dave. This site was their idea and it's doing quite well for something that was launched only 10 weeks ago.

Just thought I would update you and advise that Barclaycard cashed the £10 cheque today, hopefully statements will follow shortly?

Do you check your B/cards online at all? If yes, could you check if your £10 might have gone on your card?

 

I'm asking because I have just found £5 and £5 credited to my cards, which has to be my DPA £10, and I don't understand what's going on...

 

So if you can check and post back, that'd be great. If you don't, no a worry, I'm sure it will come out in the wash sooner or later...

Unfortunately I do not have internet access for my BC, but I will keep a lookout for the £10 in the snail mail.

 

If they have accepted the £10 as a payment, it just shows what Muppets they are as they can only process payments and not correspondents.

Hi, I just got a letter from Barclays yesterday. Basiclly the content of the letter states that they can't pay any money back to me as they believed that the monies (charges) are justified accourding to their terms and condition... the 14 days given to them will be up by the 9th April - so what next?

Received my monthly statement today, the Muppets have only gone and accepted my £10 DPA fee as a payment to my account.

 

Do I now call them and request my 6 years of statements or leave the clock ticking.

 

Any advice would be appreciated,

Received my 6 years worth of statements on Friday, so I will be counting up what is rightfully mine and advise them on Monday.

I have just looked at my recently received statements and spotted they start from May 04, the letter that I received with the statements states

 

Statements that are prior to this date are not held on a computer system or a structured relevant filing system and therefore, they do not fall under the data protection act 1998.

They can be obtained from our customer services dept at a cost of £3 per statement.

 

Could someone advise if the above is correct please?

IT IS ORDERED THAT

The claimant shall within 14 days of service of this order file a serve on the Defendant a statement clarifying his Particulars of Claim setting out how the sum claimed is made up with full details of dates and amounts of individual items said to have been made by way of charges by the defendant to the claimant and in default the claim shall be struck out

hiya Clarkey,

 

just looking at starting a claim against barclaycard myself. I just finished a claim against HSBC which they settled in full. I also had to take them court before they took me seriously, but i recieved a letter on friday offering me the whole amount, over £3000.

 

Anyway, about your claim, i'm supprised that there is no-one helping you through the process, i had loads of support with my claim. Anyway, i'll help if i can.

 

It appears that you've taken BC to court, did you do this online or by paper? Did you not turn up at the court on the designated day? If not, why not you would have won the claim by default. I'm not too sure of what steps you should take now, but i'll try and find out and post back shortly.

I processed my claim on MCOL, I got the standard forms back saying that BC was going to defend, then I received documents from my home town Court, after filling in the paperwork the next communication was the above, I have not received a court date?:-|

that sounds proper strange.

 

On the MCOL site, am i right in thinking there is a contact page. I think you'd probably be best to try and contact them and explain whats happened. they might reinstate your claim, rather than just stikeing it off. If you've not had any correspondance from the courts who could you be expected to attend.

 

If you can't contact them via the web, it might well be worth getting on the blower, if you can't get your claim reinstated are you still going to pursue BC?

I have had words of wisdom from the mighty BF and I have now written a letter to the courts with the requested Info and a sly dig at BC for there under hand tact tics.
