No that I've received acknowledgement of my claim, and Lloyds have stated their desire to fight the claim in court, is there any stat which shows whether they wait the full 28 days before settling or do they get you to the court before bottling it (or otherwise)?

Just need to book my leave early if they're likely to take it all the way.

Have they filed a defence with the court or just notified you by letter? Going previous experience you will get another letter in7/10 days saying that although with charges were justified but it's not worth their while going to court with an offer to settle. Watch the conditions carefully and back here.

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.
