Hello,

My dad bought a samsung 40" TV from Mutual Clothing and Supply on 14/06/2008 he turned it off 1 night and turned it on in the morning and it wont turn on instead just gives an indicator clicking sound :( we today phoned mutual clothing and supply and they are saying the warrentee has expired however he is still paying for it by installments so is classed as still hired purchase.

Anyone know where he stands any advice will be very greatful.

Thanx in advance :)

Once a warranty runs out then it is down to you to pay for repairs etc...you could take to a local tv repair man?

Not true. The SOGA should cover this, especially on a TV less than 2 years old.

You'll need to get an independant engineers report to verify that the fault is not due to misuse or wear & tear, and that the fault is inherent. Once you have this you can contact the seller and advise them that they must exchange the TV as per their responsibilities under the SOGA. Give them a copy of the engineers report to verify this.
