Does anyone have any advice as to what extent of detail an Inventory Clerk is required to go into when carrying out check in/out services?

There is alot of ambiguity out there, there are no regulations, and the accreditation bodies are very contradictory.

Thanks

Only enough detail to allow them to justify any dilapidations at the end.

This could be any level of detail, dependant upon the property.

If, for example, they wish to claim you damaged a coffee table, but the inventory just says "coffee table", they would have an issue.

don't know if this helps, but I had friend's who left their flat and then had money taken out of their deposit for 'fingerprints left on door handles' and 'dust on lamps', etc. It was ridiculous, they had it professionally cleaned, but come on, fingerprints? Finally they wrote a letter of complaint (plus they had the letting agency on their side) and they got most of their deposit back.
