Hello all

This has been bugging me for a long time and I could never get a straight answer from my bank.

Had a mortgage 2 year fixed, ended wanted to move house so started a new one with same company,Natwest.

When the redemption statement came through for the old mortgage(fixed rate that went onto standard rate)we were charged a fee "Interest to Anticipated redemption Date" what is this,as when we re mortgaged we added a small amount to do work on the new house, which the mortgage adviser seemed to think was a good idea, after this fee was removed we had nothing left!

I never could get a plain english answer and could anybody here tell me about this fee?

Many thanks
