Hi,

I think I may have found this forum too late but heres my story anyway.

Today I received a letter from 'Lowell Financial Ltd' claiming I owed a sum of £32.40 from an old 'Three' mobile phone account in 2003.

According to Lowell the account was opened in July 2003 therefore payments have been made during the last 6 years so the account would not be classed as statue barred.

I have no idea whether I owe this money or not but I do seem to remember having a 'Three' account many years ago so it could be true.

I have today accessed my Experian credit report and there is one 'Three' account showing as settled but that was in 2006 so could be a completely different account????

I also spoke to 'Three' and they could not find any account still showing as outstanding money.

I did get into a hell of alot of debt in my younger (foolish) years with numerous defaults and 3 CCJ's, during the last 6 years I have worked so hard to repair my credit rating it is currently perfect with a credit score of 999 :-)

Not wanting to spoil this I went and paid this invoice from Lowell.

Was I wrong to give into these bullies and more importantly with me paying this debt off in full will it have any impact on my current credit report.

Sorry to waffle on a bit but any help will be greatly appreciated

Lowell And The Phantom 3g Debt Again

I Take It Lowell Is Not On Your Credit File

No they are not on my credit file, well certainly not with Experian anyway

Theres no way I can afford another default on my credit report again, ive worked so hard over the last 6 years.

Will this be the end of the matter now ive paid the debt in full? :)

Sorry to bother you again mate but ive just thought of something.

Would I be right in thinking that with Lowells only just getting in touch with me that they have literally only just bought this debt?

So surely no default notice could be put on my credit file as I have paid up straight away?

they would only put a default on your file if 3g had put one on your file first

if no default from 3g

there will be none from lowell

Right ok, but would the default be dated from yesterday when I paid Lowells or dated from nearly 6 years ago when the account originally went into arrears with 3g

Thanks for all of your help it is appreciated :)
