i took an 18 month contract from carphonewarehouse in glasgow in june 2006. the network was vodafone. i was told that i could return it in 14 days if there is any change of mind about the contract or i dont like it incase . after only 2 (two) days without even using the mobile phone for a second i returned the mobile set and and asked the carphone warehouse to cancel that contract and took an o2 contract from them.the person dealing with me did a process and told me that vodafone contract has been cancelled. i was satisfied but i kept receiving bills from vodafone. i phoned them and explained the situation.but they still kept sending the bills for the contract that i thought i had cancelled. i sent them letter and an email explaining the whole situation. in the mean time i moved the house. recently i got my credit report and it shows a DEFAULT from vodafone amounts 125 pounds. the contract i never used and had cancelled. i dont know what to do because i do not want to pay vodafone a penny because i do not owe them any thing. as i had returned the fone and asked to cancel the contract only after 2 days of taking it.

1. plz tell me what to do if vodafone do not agree to remove my default without paying them

2. who to contact to resolve this issue.

plz help. thanks.

From what you explained, your original contract was not cancelled, and as the problem has been caused by CW, it is to the same CW branch you need to go back and speak to the manager, with all the paperwork you can take with you.

It should be fairly wasy to prove as the same shop will have processed BOTH contracts, and rather than say you changed your mind (which is rather fickle) a better hearing is assured if you claimed the coverage wasn't good enough and you needed to switch to a different network, which you did.

I have heard of some dishonest staff taking 'back' new handsets, then doing nothing, because they effectively get a new handset for nothing, and throw the contract SIM away. The manager will be aware if there were any similar issues. Vodafone wonlt be interested at this stage, as they have you confirmed as their customer and you didn;t pay, the source is CW, so chase them.

It wasn't the Fort branch, was it?
