I went about £30 over on a Direct Debit and RBS charged me £60 which was a Referal charge on my statement and that makes me £90 overdrawn.

The problem i have is that i'm currently on job seekers so i can't afford to be overdrawn and so far i've never had any charges as big as this before with the biggest being a tenner.

Is there anyway i can get this back and what would i need to do. Would i be best to write a letter to the bank and if so what would i need to say in it.

Cheers and thanks in advamce

I'm going to be writing a letter to my branch manager since this is my first big charge and i'd like to get refunded or whatever. What should i put into the letter??

Should i just state that i was charged £60 for being overdrawn and i would like to get the money refunded.

Have you read the FAQs? We will help but this is a self help site.

Have you had any other charges? If this is your only charge I would do as you say and write to the bank asking for a refund. If you 've had other charges you need to SAR them to get all your statements etc.

Good luck
