Hi, my OH is putting in a claim for £1500 worth of charges over the last six years. We wrote to HSBC with the first standard letter about a year ago asking for the charges. We got to the stage just before putting in a court claim and gave up cause we couldn't afford the court fees (over £100).

We've since reinitiated the claim as he keeps getting charged every month. We decided to start over and sent a letter with details of all the charges and giving them 14 days to respond. We received a letter from them two days ago with a leaflet "putting your finances in order" and a letter explaining that he should fill it out and they may or may not consider refunding charges as part of a package to put his finances in order.

I'm not sure if we should just go ahead and ignore their letter and work to our own timetable and the standard letters or should we try and go through their method. We're meant to send the letter before action by tomorrow.

HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

Thanks.

Hi, fariba3.

I'd take it as far as possible, Court. None of the Banks seem to take much notice until you file.

Regards.

Scott.

Katylegs - could you stick to one thread please - or your aswers are going to get lost or mixed up with someone else's ......... :)

To comment on yours fariba - Marondevo is right - in my opinion , this is a time-wasting exercise on the part of the bank - stick to the time table. When you send the LBA word it something like - "as you have failed to respond positively (or "satisfactorily" whichever you prefer)........

Don't forget to send it 'Recorded Delivery' - so someone has to sign for it ...:)

Best of luck

Go get 'em .......... :D
