  3. Thanks so much. Will post off letter before action now. Thanks for all your advice
  4. Hi, my OH is putting in a claim for £1500 worth of charges over the last six years. We wrote to HSBC with the first standard letter about a year ago asking for the charges. We got to the stage just before putting in a court claim and gave up cause we couldn't afford the court fees (over £100). We've since reinitiated the claim as he keeps getting charged every month. We decided to start over and sent a letter with details of all the charges and giving them 14 days to respond. We received a letter from them two days ago with a leaflet "putting your finances in order" and a letter explaini
  5. Hi all, thanks in advance for all of your help! I've done this before and am now starting on my partner's charges. I've added them all up and have included CARD SERVICES charges dating back to 2001. I haven't found anyone else on this site who has had something like this but basically it appears that almost every month, he was charged a "card services" charge ranging from £8.00 to £30 by 2007. Has anyone else had these charges? It seems to be replaced by TOTAL CHARGES in 2006. Can I count it in his reclaim?
  6. Hi, my case is scheduled for a small claims hearing on 3 May. I wanted to know if you could send me the direct number and i could contact the guy you were in contact with? Thanks.
  7. they did end up closing it and, yes, it was my first claim but to be honest, as soon as they paid up the 800+ pounds, i got another charge for say 75 quid and i asked for that back. They must have thought i was just a trouble customer and just decided to do away with me. I've since opened an account with Lloyds. Can't say they're any better but i've been good and stayed within my credit. it's hard to replace the years you were with a bank though because that always looks good when you're applying for credit somewhere.
  8. Hi, i also have a directions hearing scheduled for 10:30am in Cardiff with Judge Hendicott. I wrote to the court to have my partner attend on my behalf because i am away. Is anyone preparing anything to bring? Are you preparing a bundle or just turning up so the judge can set a few dates? I'm starting to get a bit confused!!
  9. Hi, i also received the same letter just today! what does it mean? when you say, light at the end of the tunnel, what do you mean? Do you think they'l show up? Do you think we'll all get default judgements? What do we need to do to prepare for it because i willl be away that day but my partner says he will go in my place if need be... Plse keep me posted...
  10. Hi Mel, Sorry this is a late answer. I didn't think i had any service charges so, hence, i didnt' include them. I'm now at the stage where i've got a default judgement and i just put a warrant out to get the money back. No sign from them. Good luck with yours and keep me posted!
  11. Alright, i got it all back but it's cost me.... HSBC closed my account and demanded payment of my overdraft to bring the account back into credit. It took me a few months to do this and basically HSBC registered all of this (in arrears) for over 4 months... I can't even get a credit card now! Is there anything i can do?
  12. Thanks for that... just slipped it in... on another note, does anyone know what we should do if a bank missed the deadline to file a defense?
  13. can someone help with this? Bookworm wrote: "If you have the N149, under section G (Other information) you should ask that the court orders Standard Disclosure" Sorry i need this spelt out for me... do i have to include a spreadsheet with the charges of when and where they were taken or is this request for "standard disclosure" what Bookworm is referring to and i don't need to include anything?
  14. I'm doing this on behalf of my OH but Barclays really seem to be giving him the runaround. We sent in the DPA letter then they sent us a letter saying they were going to refer the entire account to a credit agency. Then, a few days later after they had waited the full 40 days they sent half the statements which only went back to May 2004 (as is standard i'm seeing) and carried on about teh microfiche argument. So now, we don't have full statements to glean the charges from and it seems like they're stalling... i've come up with £340 in charges dating back to June 2005, should i jus
