Hi all.

I moved house Late augast last year. In mid december, there was a ccj against me, which i didn't know about as i had not lived at the address for 4 months.

I owe the taxman money, but would have challenged the amount.

What is the legality of this CCJ?

Any help is appreciated

Hi jonnyz

I presume this is a self assessment debt

I'm no expert but would suggest you would have had other paperwork sent to you at previous address which would have given you fair warning of precedings being taken against you.

Did you tell HMRC that you have moved ? if not they will argue that you should have.

IHO you should bite the bullet, pay up asap. You won't get much joy fighting debts against the crown

Please note: I am not a lawyer and as such any advice I give is purely from a laymans point of view;-)
