I purchase a dash cam, December 2015 (7 months ago) Before fitting in the car I read all of the instruction to activate it, one of the last things I did was to put in the correct date and time, the camera works fine great picture no problem. However when I took out the SD card to have a look at the recording, I noticed that all the dates and times were the same after recording for 6 months, (which if I did have an accident could be a problem). It reverts to the settings put in by the manufactures, when the engine is turned off. I also noticed that the battery had no charge in it even after driving 200 miles. I phoned the manufactures technical department, they explained that it has a faulty battery, which is causing the problem with the date and time. They said I should take it back to the place of purchase. What I would like to know is, how long is a manufactures warrant, and is the supplier responsible for its repair, or the manufacturer?

Greetings, Back in Feb 2014 I puchased a dash cam for £320. (Credit card) It has now failed with an intermittent but frequent power problem. I have contacted the seller but have been informed that they only offer a 12 month warranty. I have replied quoting SOGA. Do you think this has got legs or should I count my losses? I expect a point blank refusal to be assiseted so what to do next? Many thanks, Stevetheboy.

Out of warranty claim for Vauxhall Corsa camshaft
tbourner posted a topic in General Motoring Issues
Hiya, I'm new here, I've lurked before and friends have used the site a lot so thought I'd join up and ask about my recent misfortune. We have an 05 Corsa 1.2 SXi, it developed a misfire which subsequently snapped the exhaust camshaft. Apparently a common fault on the 2005 model only. link It's out of warranty, 5 years old, 50k miles, I bought it from an independant garage a year ago where it was serviced, I had an oil change done around February. I checked the oil on Thursday last week and it was OK so I'm guessing it's the loose cam cap bolts issue. The AA man dropped it off at the local vx service place and I'm waiting for them to open tomorrow morning. Is it likely they'll help cover the costs? I'm looking at around £400-£500 from any other garage or over double that from Vauxhall by my estimates. Will the garage be any use or do I need to go straight to Vauxhall customer care? Thanks, Trev. -
Hi, as you can probably tell, I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't even figure out how to post! Here goes. Last week I recieved a letter from Vauxhall say my car had been recalled to check the cam shaft bolts. I made an appointment and took the car. They rang back a few hours later and told me they had found a problem with the starter motor. Total cost £201.16. Am I just being cynical or could they be making work (and money) for themselves? Would be interested to know if anyone else has taken their Vauxhall in on a re-call and ended up shelling out. Many thanks
