Here's to the future & getting back what's rightfully ours Electra - keep in touch and let me know what's happening - please. It's great having all these people to help isn't it? Believe me I've had some right s*** thrown at me over the years as I know other people have as well and the only way I could describe it at the time to my sister when things were really bleak was "The wolves are not just at the door but they've got their paws in through the letter box!!" Thankfully things have improved dramatically. My kids have both got degrees one is an Associate with a major Accountancy firm (ironic that!) The other has just finished his degree (got a first) and is looking round. It was worth robbing Peter to pay Paul now it's my turn, no more robbing just taking back honestly, what is rightfully mine

Hi there First things first set up a new thread of your own so that the site can monitor your progress and assist you with your questions. Make sure you read everything you can - especially the FAQ's. From my own experience this is how I started with the HSBC 1. Get all your statements together going back 6 years, if you haven't got your statements and you bank online - you are able to get copies online with the HSBC. If not send a DPA letter to HSBC, I sent mine to head Office addressed to Head of Customer Relations, HSBC, Level 36, 8 Canada Square, London, E14 5HQ. Hope this helps... Boo

  9. CCA - Consumer Credit Act DCA - Debt Collection Agency (which I think these guys are - Blair, Oliver and Scott) Plenty of info and advice plus FAQ's that will give you that info but JONCRIS seems to have what you are looking for....

Hi Electra GOOD LUCK - you won't need it though as you're doing everything by the book;) Sent my LBA yesterday - recorded. Unlike you though no response from anyone no standard go away you're getting nothing or even an acknowledgement. TBH I'm not chasing anyone I'm sticking to the timetable and being as I've had no response I am assuming that if I do get one it will be the standard get lost... so have already prepared the schedule of charges to be attached to the court action papers (including the 8%) just in case...... I've been a naughty girl over the years (FINANCIALLY) so am in the process of fighting 4 other claims also, so have to be organised. Shame I couldn't have been like this years ago then I wouldn't have so much money to claim back - Hey girl but at least we can!!!
  11. You and pink both rock!! You so deserve it you're always giving advice to others, and as my mum used to say what goes around comes around!! ENJOY...........
  12. Sorry we can't all know everything, that's why I'm using this site!! Just want to make sure I do it properly
  13. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you That's what I was hoping someone would say as that's what my interpretation of the interest claimed was. I lOVE YOU!!!!! oops gotta keep a check on these emotions all over the shop tonight - and now
  14. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarhhhhh - I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!! I am talking bank charges are you? who is Ikano? The only interest payments are those incurred by my going over my overdraft limit and they amount to £49 in total in three years. There is no debt balance, there is an overdraft but the charges were paid as and when money was credited to the account. I feel so stupid right now, all I really need is someone to tell me whether or not I should be claiming this interest as I was told on a different thread that those interest charges were non reclaimable and that the only interest to be claimed is at the court stage.... SORRY!!!
  15. How can you claim for something you've never had? All that I have claimed for are the charges that are shown on the statement I haven't incurred any (Compound Interest) charges on those charges so how can I claim for them? - I'm going nuts, would someone please tell me if I'm entitled to claim these charges and if so whether I should or do I best leave them alone? Two prelim letters now sent and an LBA!
  16. How on earth?????????????? I've just put a claim into the Halifax for £622 and the HSBC for £2686 - all charges. Prepared schedule of charges for prelim and LBA and also for Court application (not time to send yet). Court ones include the 8% but I have claimed no other interest. I have read so many threads and FAQ's on this site that my head spins regarding Interest, anyway my question is CrispDust how did you manage to practically quintuple your claim????????
  17. Halifax Statements for second account received this morning (obviously the little one!!) Anyway, calculated charges and Initial Request Letter sent recorded along with schedule of charges. I was going to wait for First account statements and combine the two but no idea when they'll come through. Surprise as well still got £8.63 in this account, thought I'd closed it so will be sorting that out!

I've done everything I'm supposed to do and tried to to prepare well in advance. I just need some advice now please... When I sent the prelim letter I enclosed a schedule of charges which included interest (not the 8%) but the interest listed on my statements. I have prepared the LBA as no response and am attaching another schedule of charges - correct to date yes? I was reading other threads on here and thought I'd be super efficient as HSBC seem to be allowing things to go to listing for court stage, so downloaded another spreadsheet which calculates the 8%, which I've completed, the only problem I now have is: 1. Should I have included the original interest charges (those listed on my statement)? 2. If so where are they shown on the second spread sheet which calculates the 8% of the penalty charges?? Boo:(

Hi Electra It's 14 days apparently from the day they receive it. I know, I know you just want to move it on (I do!!!) but I think the whole point of sticking to the time scales and giving the appropriate waiting time is that if/when it gets to the Court stage it can be proved that you've acted reasonably. Do like i've done, prepare the letter, print out the schedule of charges, check, double check and triple check. You don't want mistakes otherwise you look incompetent, not know what you're talking about and lets be honest that's all they need to make mince meat of you!! That's the very wise information I've picked up along the way...whilst you're waiting and after you've prepared your very professional response pick other people's brains and like you have done to date keep on reading. They must think I'm a right pain in the A*** on here as I'm always making comments - can't help my self, can't get off the site. My son thinks I've lost my mind and my daughter thinks I'm on some sort of chat site - didn't pursue that one!!! Good luck honey:lol:
  24. Thanks for that as you said - we need the support! BTW I have the account numbers thankfully remembered them () and then checked them out against some very old info that I had! The numbers I was referring to were the telephone numbers. Take care Boo
  25. I have just read this thread and I can't wait for the next episode!!! Khalid 302 you've been a joy to read, everything you were feeling and thinking came out in this thread:confused: A whole range of emotions let's hope Monday is . You sure do deserve it sweetie!! I sent a DPA to the Halifax on the 7th of August, haven't acknowledged anything with mine yet, might just give them a ring on Monday to check it's been received etc... Trouble is I closed both accounts with them in 2003 so will need to scout around for number etc... Anyway all the best. Boo
