  1. Most of the major companies don't encourage Union membership and we all know why! I work for the Local Authority and frankly you'd have to murder the boss, hang, draw and quarter his body and display his entrails outside of the main council building for any action to be taken. But to have your wrists slapped though someone would have had to bare witness to the whole episode. Then there's always the ET!!!! Sublime to the ridiculous spring to mind??
  2. RIGHT VJR Any idea where I stand with the bailiff fees etc....?
  3. No response from LBL to date, so LBA sent recorded on the 31st of August. Still need to know if I can claim any of the £300 bailiff fees that were added to my account. I am so looking forward to taking on these ******* (lovely people!) and I am sure it will be of great interest to other LBL victims!!
  4. Thank you all lovely people, I'm so glad I posted this thread!!!
  5. How kind are you???? Best if we just send the nasty vibes though!!!
  6. Thank you my darling I have to say she will love that story and I am so glad you stuck to your guns. For us it's slightly different. My daughter IS A SOLICITOR she trained in law did her LPC and then decided to go for this, what she thought was a wonderful career move - great pay, company credit card, first class travel and of course offices all over the world. She won't fight it now they've so knocked the stuffing out of her and and I can't blame her. She's the one who's going to have to face them all if she fights it not me and she can't!! But anyway thank you everyone who's responded you are all an inspiration and helping her to achieve what I am sure will be an even better goal, she'll be happier anyway!!
  7. She is rewriting the CV!! What lovely people are on here, I really only put this on this forum so that she could see that she has done no wrong. You know what they're like don't accept that off mum as we're of course biased. She really is a lovely kid and frankly I could murder the bitch that made my daughters' first job so miserable but as my own mum said "what goes about comes about"!! We are in the process of appealing the decision, when of course she gets the letter, and we are taking legal advice. We both know there's nothing anyone can do and she really couldn't face those monsters again but as long as we've covered all the options then to be honest I'll be happy. She is happy, not happy at being sacked but happy in the knowledge that she doesn't have to go there again!!
  8. Hi angry cat sorry to hear of your horrendous position. What I don't understand - I thought Bankruptcy's were time limited i.e. 6 years. At the point of bankruptcy the person involved has a meeting with the OR where all financial commitments are discussed. All account cards have to be relinquished i.e. Credit cards, cheque guarantee cards, store cards etc... shares have to be declared as do premium bonds etc... The OR then goes away and a meeting is arranged for later, once the OR has listed everything, spoken with creditors then a regular repayment is agreed but for an agreed time limit. How come your husband managed to carry on with his normal financial life when bankrupt? A bankrupt is not allowed to enter into financial transactions that exceed a £200 limit, anyway I digress that is not what I wanted to say. My problem is to do with you purchasing your husbands share in the property 15 years ago for a nominal sum. I am assuming that you have taken Legal advice on this matter and that it was not discussed with the OR originally as this should have been discussed at the original meeting and then during future contact etc.. Also did the OR have no contact with your husband at all in the last 16 years as they don't normally operate like that?
  9. Don't know where to put this or if it's even appropriate for the forum but just needed to tell someone and get some advice.... I know this is not a bank or even a charges problem but all will be come clear at the end (if you get that far!!). My daughter started her dream job in Sept last year with one of the big four (in the world) Accountancy firms. Her and her boss who she had a great working relationship with set this new section up completely from scratch. Her job had also involved travelling all over the country, sometimes with her boss, to other branches detailing how the section works. About 4 months ago a new assistant manager was taken on who has frankly made my daughters’ life a living nightmare she watched everything my daughter did including timing her toileting breaks! Needless to say the relationship with her boss deteriorated as my daughter was uncertain what this woman was saying to the boss. It’s her first job and she just wanted to keep the peace and progress. Unfortunately it became so bad that my D had to go and see her boss and ask if she’ d done anything wrong as she had really tried to work with this woman but to no avail. Her boss intimated that she had better pull her socks up. Also if she was thinking about looking for something else then be careful as people talk in this city! She didn’t want to make waves so she decided to keep her head down, get the experience and the training she needed and basically work. She was, by now, as you can imagine completely disheartened. She had had such a brilliant working relationship, she had given 110% (I know it’s a cliché but she had). So much so, that her boss had recommended her for an "Outstanding Contribution Award". She received this recognition last month in the form of a monetary bonus (she received the highest amount!). She then went on leave for a week on the 21st August. On the Friday of that week she had an email from one of the other partners in the firm (her boss was on holiday). This was asking her to attend a meeting on the following Tuesday which she did. She was told at this meeting that due to a complaint made about her and a file she had been working on her services were no longer required, in fact she had been sacked!!!!! She had not been asked to bring a representative or a colleague with her. She had been dismissed without a real reason, she had not been given the opportunity to question the dismissal and more importantly they had not adhered to their own disciplinary policy. She was asked to clear her desk and leave the building but they were (out of the goodness of their hearts) going to pay a months salary in lieu of notice! She had four days to go before completing a year’s service. She left the building on her own. She has yet to receive the formal letter of dismissal detailing the reasons. To cap it all this morning, she received a letter from HR telling her in no more than two sentences that the graduate loan she had been given at the commencement of her employment (a loan that she had thought was an incentive payment and she had used to pay off some of her debts incurred whilst a student) was now due for repayment and could they please have a cheque before Friday next!!! She is now hysterical, she has not got access to that kind of money, has no job so no chance of getting a loan, I am not in a position to help so finally we get to the question. I have told her that as long as she contacts them and offers a reasonable payment schedule then if they do not accept this and they decide to go down the small claims route no judge would look at the facts and say she was being unreasonable and rule in favour of these crims would they??? As you will also no doubt be aware she is unable to go down the tribunal route so her dream job had ended up being her worst nightmare!!

I'm going to try and stick to the time scale - money claim to be done on Monday as have heard nothing since the 24th when they made me an offer which was a partial settlement. I think I'll go down to my Local Court and do it, as it seems that some people have been having problems with the on line version and there being insufficient space on the form etc... It's only down the road from where I work so that's no problem. I did send for the recommended book on here regarding small claims etc. So I might just wait for that to come - should be here anytime now. That's me at this point haven't heard anything from anyone else but will keep in touch, please do the same speak soon. Boo

Morning hun I had a bog off letter yesterday regarding my letter of the 4th of August!!! So don't know what's happening, I feel a bit like you at the moment but don't let them grind you down, everyone else has had a refund why not us? Take care Boo
  12. You use the 40 day deadline anyway and I certainly wouldn't bother sending a second letter with a second postal order. I also have sent all my letters recorded delivery it only costs an extra 60 odd pence, but by my sending it recorded I am then assuming my letters have reached them and base my time scales then accordingly . I have stuck to the guidelines issued on this site. 40 days for the SAR then when received info send initial request allow 14 days and so on....If info is not received within 40 days there are additional response templates on the site that deal with that. Hope this helps
  13. I did use the spreadsheet on this site and to be honest I only claimed the charges incurred as any interest I had incurred I thought they were welcome to especially bearing in mind that I had claimed all of my charges and to be honest it wasn't a huge amount. There is a thread on here on how to work out your charges etc. - I think Bankfodder organises it. The 8% interest only goes on at the point of the moneyclaim/court action being taken. No settlements made yet but a lot of claims in the pipeline so here's hoping. Good luck and keep going - Boo
  14. Hi bubbles They like most of the banks on here seem to have too many people dealing differently with too many claims. As you will see from my signature below I had an offer that referred back to my letter of the 7th of August quite early on in the process and then a bog off letter yesterday referring to my letter of the 4th of August (what letter of the 4th)!! I would just continue with the process, give them 14 days and then the next letter etc.. Keep referring to the threads on here, read lots and lots and it will certainly fire you up to continue believe you me!!
  15. Here's wishing you lots of luck Twinkle (with extra star dust!!) Twinkle twinkle little star, I bet you wonder how you've come this far With lots of help from all on site I'm sure it has felt like a very long fight. But just think how you'll feel when they crumble and you win, It will all have been worth it when the money rolls in!!! Good luck honey.... Boo
  16. Enough with the procrastination consider this a kick up the A*** and use the following: Consumer Action Group > Libraries - bank charges materials and other issues > Bank Templates Library Data Protection Act - Non-Compliance - Template Letters Couple of letters in here might help?? Boo

Had a bog off letter this morning referring to my letter of the 4th of August, my letter was actually dated the 7th and I've had an offer since then...!! Do you think it's a case of to many fingers in the pie??
  18. Where's BW and what have you done with him????
  19. How's it going - made any progress on those boxes yet? Boo

Hi honey Any news yet? Boo
  21. Hi there I think understand what is happening with these people and the fact that they can't enforce these agreements legally but where does that leave the rest of us that paid these inflated loans etc...? I have also put questions on my Log Book loan thread.
  22. Mine is still on and with 6 days to do I plan to relist, at 15p hardly a huge amount!! Boo
  23. Not sure where to post this so am using my thread: Wish I'd told them to get knotted as you have done and as johnCris suggested. What I want to know is tied up around the interest and the so called bailiff charges: I am claiming charges back but they only amount to a paltry amount in comparison to what I paid them. Can I claim any of the extortionate interest or any of the £300 bailiff charges etc...???
