  1. All the indications are that it'll take significantly more than 12 months. More like 12 years and in the meantime continued uncertainty for business, low investment and a weak pound. The real disaster is yet to happen.
  2. I did and once again you are completely wrong. I haven't expressed any opinion on Corbyn or Labour or that we'll remain in the EU. Opinions are fine when they have at least some factual basis. If you want people to take you more seriously then at least try being honest.
  3. As I recall the only thing you tried telling us was based on a quote that you selectively edited by Lord James of Blackheath. You misrepresented it as a statement of fact when it was actually a question which was laughed at by his peers in the House of Lords. We told you it was garbage, you asked us to prove it and we did. Remember?
  4. If you won the court claim the court would have automatically included the claim & hearing fee, so not sure what's happened.
  5. It was not retweeted by Trump, in fact his press secretary Stephanie Grisham said he ''strongly condems'' what he's heard of it even though she claims he hasn't yet seen it . It has been widely criticised for being in extremely bad taste. If even Trump thinks it's over top what does it say about the decision to post it here?
  6. Most got it wrong but it's a myth to say they all did . More than 25% of the polls conducted between the publication of the referendum question and vote predicted leave, and it was hardly a ''massive'' win.
  7. I'm not sure if this has been posted before, apologies if it has, but if not I think most who post on this thread would find it especially interesting. I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories but this 12 minute video from Bloomberg does seem raise some genuine questions about the integrity of Nigel Farage, the Leave campaign and their chums in the city.
  8. Err not quite. Here's the actual (unedited) quote by Lord James of Blackheath as recorded in Hansard: https://hansard.parliament.uk/lords/2019-09-06/debates/0C259B8B-7232-4228-BB00-E258510FD926/EuropeanUnion(Withdrawal)(No6)Bill So not only did you edit the quote front & back to make it appear as a some kind of statement of fact, rather than a question, his peers laughed at it.
  9. The ex Supreme Court Justice Jonathon Sumption (he who represented the banks in the Supreme Court bank charges case and won) was asked about that scenario and he said that if Johnson did anything contrary to genuinely seeking and obtaining an extension after the letter is sent it would have the effect of invalidating the extension request letter and he would thus be in breach of the Benn Act. The act doesn't just require him to seek an extension, he has to accept it if the EU agrees to it.
  10. Section 75 claims can only be made for purchases of £100+, or for deposits on goods or services that have a total value of £100+. As I understand it this purchase was for £30. In any event it wouldn't be advisable to complain directly to Yodel AND make a simultaneous claim to the credit card provider as the CC provider would be unlikely to entertain the claim until the direct complaint has been concluded.
  11. You cannot truly believe that the likes of Mrs Miggins at number 94 had the foresight and perception to consider what effect Brexit would have on the Irish border or how the UK could adjust if it was suddenly plunged into a situation where it didn't have a single negotiated trading relationship with any nation on earth. You harp on about the referendum being 'democratic' but Mrs Miiggins was neither voted for or elected but somehow got to make the most complex and important decision in generations. She had no qualification or mandate. How is that democratic?
  12. Your opinion had the potential to be a tad less ridiculous had you chosen to identify this mysterious collective you keep referring to as 'they'.
  13. Whether the key EU players in the Brexit negotiations are honest or consistent is a subjective consideration but there is no doubt that they are stunningly bright and it's little wonder that the shower who went in to bat for the UK never stood a chance of out-negotiating them.
  14. Where is the strength in an argument that the referendum was democratic? It was as undemocratic as the stunt that Johnson has just pulled as it is designed to exclude Parliament from the decision making process.
  15. Channel 4 news is consistantly the best daily news program on television and has won numerous awards including a BAFTA for it's undercover investigation into the discredited Cambridge Analytica and the revelation that it ran all of your beloved President Trump's digital campaign. I'm guessing you prefer Fox right?
  16. If you're referring to the popular vote (Clinton got 3m more total votes than Trump) it's irrelevant as the US employs the electoral college system.
  17. The facts are he won his election in 2016 with a majority of 46 Republican seats in the House of Representatives and 6 in the Senate. It may be you are getting confused with the mid term elections in 2018 (in which he didn't win as he didn't take part due to it only applying to some seats in the House and Senate) when the Democrats took the majority in the House.
  18. What are you talking about? He won the last election with a majority.
