  1. Congratulations. I have my fingers crossed but am under no illusions that this is gunna be easy skb
  2. Hi All My account was first opened sometime in the mid seventies as a trusteee account while I was still a little nipper. This was signed over to me when I was 16. I then promptly spent the entire contents on cigarettes and alcohol in an alarmingly short period of time. At this point there were no DD's or anything. I didnt even have a cash card and had to go into the bank with my 'book' to withdraw money so there was, unfortunately, no opportunity to accumulate charges. In 1992 I started Uni and converted my account into a student account which came replete with a student overdraft. I held the account until 1999 whereupon I was forced to leave in disgust at their poor treatment of my dire financial straits and join the mighty Lloyds. During this time I had also been offered, and had gladly accepted a Natwest Visa card and a MasterCard, each with a thousand pound limit. Suffice to say they were pretty soon at their limits and one would presume incurring charges. It was these chains around my neck, and the demands for immdeiate repayment of said chains, that forced me into the arms of Lloyds when Natwest refused to offer me a graduate loan in order to consolidate my overdraft and visa cards. Quite how much I was charged on my account and credit cards during this period I do not know, nor can I even estimate, as the haze of alcohol that was consumed during this period of my life has clouded all memories. To what little memory that remains I abused my cheque on a monthly if not weekly basis for the last 3 or 4 years the account was open. Fortunately I kept all statements for account and cards. Unfortunately in a fit of spring cleaning frenzy a few years ago I threw them away in the mistaken belief that they could not possibly be of any further use to me. How foolish I was and the lesson has been learned. I will never ever through anything away again. So you can imagine how delighted I was to learn that Natwest hold account information back to at least 1992. I have since located an old, and surprisingly unused, cheque book giving me my account details but have been unable as yet to find anything with my credit card numbers on. Next steps: 1) Carry out a search of all my boxes of cr*p for the missing credit card numbers. 2) Fire off the SAR for all information held on my accounts and creditcards 3) Get my money back skb
  3. Update: After a lazy couple of weeks have sent statutory notice and covering letter to vodafone on 5th April, I eagerly await their response skb
  4. Hi JackGlass You need to use the N1 form, I recommend the hard copy version over MCOL. A guide to filling in the form can be found here POC N1 Hard Copy Version and the actual form here N1 form in pdf formate with form filling. Remember you can now claim 8 % interest so you will need to complete the simple spreadsheet here Spreadsheets. This should add a fair few pounds onto your claim. As you are unemployed you may be exempt from paying court fees (which is £80 for claims under £1000). A guide to exemptions is here Court Fees Exemptions. You will need to fill in a ex160 form here Court Fees Remission Form EX160 and a guide to completing it is here Court Fees Remission guidance. Good luck skb
  5. Quick question regarding N1 form. I will be doing the talking for the GF when it comes to any hearing etc do I have to state this now or at a later date (AQ time?)
  6. Claim update: An offer of £1025 was received on 22nd March which is below the amount requested (£1075 without interest). Rejection letter (template 4 I think)was sent giving them 7 days to cough up the full amount or court proceedings would ensue. This deadline was up on friday so N1 form going in post tomorrow. POC comes to 3 pages in all. This is just for the last 6 years of charges have put the older stuff on hold for a few weeks whilst we get the ball rolling on this one. Claim is for £1075 in charges + £3.96 in debit interest + contractual interest in the first instance at 29.8 % of £2850, in the alternative at 18.25 % of £1267, and failing that in the alternative of s69 interest at 8 % of £429. skb
  7. The hunt for a copy of the signed bank account agreement is still underway. So far RBS have sent a coy of GF's loan agreement, which was nice of them but not what asked for. Sent them an email stating this and could we please have a copy of bank account aggreement. Received an email back basically saying they werent sure what I was asking for so replied spelling it out in the clearest way possible. Received this reply on 14th March So still waiting....thier 12 working days were up on 12th March. Is it now 30 calender days until they being really naughty or is it 40?? skb
  8. Hi, yep you need the N1 form from the HM website (N1 form in pdf formate with form filling) a guide to filling it in is here POC N1 Hard Copy Version you need to fill it in and send to your local county court together with the relevant fee (County Court Fees). You can use MCOL instead but its a bit awkward to fill in, the N1 form is far preferable IMO skb
  9. Ok have received no replies to either the prelims or LBa so come wednesday its time for submitting county court claim. The principal claim is £1695 (£1075 for last 6 years and £695 old charges) With CI this becomes £8926 (£3885 for last 6 years and £5042 old charges). As the claim without interest is less than £5000 can I get this into the small claims track or will it need to be split into 2 claims (old and new charges). If it is possible to get into small claims how do I go about doing it and is there a risk it will go into fast track?? skb
  10. Hi Speedo You may accept the offer as a partial payment only on the understanding that you will pursue them for the rest - out of interest is the outstanding amount greater than the price of recorded delivery??lol Their is also no need to accept their conditions, you are sueing them after all See Rejecting_offers for more details skb
  11. Hi Which interest are you talking about here?? If its interest they charged you then agreed prob not worth the bother. If its s.69 interest at 8 % then it most definetely is skb
  12. Hi Julie, Follow this link for what to do http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/25716-rejecting-offers.html skb
  13. Hi Tractor Girl. Send your SAR to: Penny Berryman Senior Manager Data Protection Dept. Chiswell Street 48, Chiswell Street London EC1Y 4XX and make your cheque payable to LloydsTSB skb
  14. Hi All, Money saving expert has some good articles on this subject see here, for credit scoring:How it works and how to beat it, and here for Which FI uses which credit agencies skb
  15. Hi Sarah, when lloyds settle you can ask them to take any additional charges into account. They might, just might pay them back aswell. If not just start another claim and you'll get it all back in the end. skb
  16. I had mine taken off me many years ago for continued account miss-use i.e. i was getting charged several times a month. The loss of your card may therefore have nothing to do with reclaiming charges, all depends on what your conduct has been like skb
  17. Yep the process is the same skb
  18. Dont know if this is relevent but I have a select loan with lloyds. A provision of this loan is that it is repaid from a Lloyds Selcet account ONLY and not from another account elsewhere. Still sounds like they are being right ar*es skb
  19. CONGRATULATIONS KATIE:) 4 days early aswell, may be worthwhile apply for costs to be awarded. See here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/lloyds-bank/65921-application-costs.html skb
  20. Hi Debs, You can insert more lines into your first spready as follows: At line 117 left click on '117' (its in grey on the left). This should highlight the entire row. Now right click on the '117' to bring up a pop down menu. On this pop down menu go to 'insert'. This will insert a new row. Repeat this process until you have inserted enough rows for the rest of your charges (you can insert more than 1 row at a time but lets keep it simple shall we?). You now need to copy the formulas from cells E116 and F116 down through the rows you have just inserted. To do this highlight both cells by left clicking on E116 and moving right onto F116. Release the mouse button and move the pointer to the bottom left corner of cell F116. The pointer should change from a white cross to a black cross. With the pointer showing as a black cross left click the mouse and drag the pointer down through all the cells you have previously inserted. This will put the appropriate formulas in E and F columns. This should sort it for you. Check that the totals in C and F column update correctly, if not post back here for help skb
  21. Hi All I have a long way to go but am starting on the road to sorting out my credit file. I hope to have a 'good' credit rating by the end of the year Things to remove include: 2 default markers (vodafone and HFC bank, both old accounts no longer active) Late payment history (Orange - 2 accounts no longer active) CCJ (student loan only one year left but gunna have a pop at geting it removed anyway) Several Credit Cards - adverse payment history. For the defaults I shall be sending off Surly bonds letters re DPA. Am also going to use them to remove adverse payment history from Orange, and, once i've paid them off, all my credit cards. skb
